What with all of the comparing the Dude to Jesus and Donnie to Jesus and the walrus to.. lost my train of thought.
I'm wondering how these 2 well known scenes taken together may or may not lend meaning to one another.
Scene 1.
Quote
DUDE
You thought Bunny'd been kidnapped
and you could use it as a pretext to
make some money disappear. All you
needed was a sap to pin it on, and
you'd just met me. You thought,
hey, a deadbeat, a loser, someone
the square community won't give a
shit about.
LEBOWSKI
Well? Aren't you?
DUDE
Well. . . yeah.
Scene 2
Quote
THE STRANGER
I don't know about you, but I take
comfort in that. It's good knowin'
he's out there, the Dude, takin' her
easy for all us sinners.
Discuss amounst yourselves...

My first thought is that, like all dudes, we are a mass of contradictions.
So would any of you dudes actually pay a girl for sex?

Never buy a drink you can enjoy for free. 8)
"Raises sunglasses" I'll just find a cash machine...... :)
I need a hint. I don't see any connections between the two short excerpts.
If I were batshit crazy, I'd try to make something of the reference to "sin" and the phrase "sap to pin". If you juxtapose the first letters of the primary words in the latter phrase, you get "pap sin". Clearly, the Cohen Bros. are making a statement about the underlying dangers of rampant female (i.e., strongly vaginal) sexuality in the post-modern era. The Bible (in Romans 6:23) foresaw that women would bear the wages of their sins by subjecting themselves to invasive pap smears testing for loathsome diseases.
But, I mean, other than that axiomatic parallel I don't get it.

Speaking to the possibility that "Takin her easy" might leave us vulnerable to such manipulation.
Sinner as in that double crossing paraquat the big L. (Or whoever might wish to exploit the Dudely)
What utility does "Takin her easy" offer in respect to all us sinners?
How does it serve sinners?
If it's a sort of Jesus Christ reference like "died for our sins" then it does imply something like a martyrdom.
Assuming that the Dude is correct and the Big L was playing him then he must have been testing the Dude with..
Quote
LEBOWSKI
It's funny. I can look back on a
life of achievement, on challenges
met, competitors bested, obstacles
overcome. I've accomplished more
than most men, and without the use
of my legs. What. . . What makes a
man, Mr. Lebowski?
DUDE
Dude.
LEBOWSKI
Huh?
DUDE
I don't know, sir.
LEBOWSKI
Is it. . . is it, being prepared to
do the right thing? Whatever the
price? Isn't that what makes a man?
In this context the Big L doesn't believe that "doing the right thing" amounts to jack shit.
He's ready to be a dick if it serves his needs. And he's planning on fucking over the Dude.
He's a sinner. Doesn't care about doing the right thing.
He is wondering if the Dude feels that way. 'ie' looking for a Sap to pin it on.
He thinks "challenges met, competitors bested, obstacles overcome" is what makes a man.
He's proud to not do the right thing when it serves his needs if it helps him best competitors and overcome obstacles.(Of course he is a gold bricking phoney and human paraquat)
Now how does the Stranger chime in on this?
Says he takes comfort in knowing he's out there. For us sinners.
How does the Dude serve sinners by abiding and takin' her easy?
