Hey BD, what do you think of our very own Jimmie Dale Gilmore? To me, Gilmore represents honest music, no pop bullshit or sell outs to commercial crap.

Yeah he's good. I haven't seen him in years but I heard an interview a while back where he had done an album of covers of country standards that was very good.
When It comes to country I like the stuff that gets back to the source.
A lot of "modern" country is IMO what Tom Petty called it. "A bad rock band with a fiddle"

Love that quote! "A bad rock band with a fiddle"  ...fuckin' eh! Yeah, have to agree; Jimmie has a strong tie to the musical roots he writes music from. I dig the way he does business. Listening to him is pretty damn refreshing.
