Ok, any of you homeboys football (soccer) fans? The world cup is a coming this summer. Any predictions? Personally, I think that (unfortunately) Brazil will take it (again) since its home turf... but I really hope for an underdog to take this time (Uruguay?)... Your predictions? Thoughts? Or do just don't give two fucks about this shit? Its all good...
I really tried to develop an appreciation for it, but it's too slow compared to Am. football or hockey.
In the U.S. it's considered a relatively harmless sport for children, or at least it used to be. We have a professional team here in Denver but I've never been to a game or heard that many people talk about it, but then again Denver is mainly into the Broncos.
Currently there is a concussion/brain injury crisis in the NFL, with a lot of retired players developing serious brain impairments and committing suicide. If that causes parents to start pulling their kids from Am. football, I wouldn't be surprised if soccer becomes more prominent here in a generation or two. Either that or if some American soccer star breaks out and gets the kids here excited, like Michael Jordan did for basketball and Gretzky for hockey.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
Oh sorry I fell asleep there for a minute.
I have not been infected with this football virus thing so know nothing about it (well apart from the odd little bits).
Oh wait I'm talking about foot....

I think Brazil definitely has the advantage, but I always have to root for Ghana. I think they won't disappoint, despite the fact that USA is looking a little better this year

Yeti master, man! I saw a frontline episode before super bowl about that brain damage shit! Crazy, crazy, man. Personally, I too have never been able to digest American Football. Too much stopping, helmets, pads and switching of players... but that's just my opinion. Now, can we meet in the middle and watch some Rugby? Now that is a mothafucking fast and brutal game! I love it!
