Title: Dudeist literature on audio
Post by: MindAbiding on January 23, 2014, 06:48:34 PM
Hey there Dudes,

I was just sitting in the tub, sipping a local brew and had an idea. I often want to take Dudeist texts into the bath with me, but the thought of toting a paperback copy of the Abide Guide into my aquatic relaxation chamber is just too exhausting. The wet fingers, the extended arms-- these things really get in the way of getting my Dude on. What I'd like to have is an audio file of our Dudeist cannon that I can let soak in while I'm soaking in. You dig?

Anybody else ever wished for the same kind of thing? I have to say that I can't see a more suitable way for taking in the lazy message of the Dude than through the recorded spoken word.

People could volunteer to read parts of it. Sort of a community audiobook, should the Dudely Lama approve such.

Exactly what I was thinking, Masked Dude, if enough people are interested in participating. Nice, man!

Try using a text-to-speech program like...

My TTS voice is an Irish girl. May next to try. The only minus is that they lack inflection. This is a tech limitation that I've discussed on other forums.

But until there's an audio version, my Irish girl voice will suffice. :)

Oh man where did you get your dll's etc for that, the Irish accent is my cryptonite (turns me into even more of a gibbering wreck than anything else), all I've got is MS Mary for my software.

It's an Android voice I got for US$1.62 from a Scottish company. The voices are based on real people. This voice is called Caitlin.
