Props for a Sam Harris link. Very enjoyable and, as always, educating. The last book of his I read was "The End of Faith". You'd think it was a downer, man, with a title like that but it actually offered some solace and touched on some of the issues he raises in that article. Much recommended to anyone with an interest in the subjects. I can't post links yet (ahem) but if you search youtube, you can find a related roundtable discussion of provenance not seen since the (cough, fictional, cough) days of Camelot. It includes Mr. Sam Harris along with the dearly departed Christopher Hitchens, the estimable Richard Dawkins, and professor Daniel Dennett. (Sorry, it won't let me post external links. This aggression will stand, and I'll abide, but it's not cool).

Be patient, giff, it'll come soon.

All four you mention were sometimes seen together in seminars and debates, and are known as "The Four Horsemen.  A formidable crew for sure; no religious person could stand up to them.

Anti spam/spambot measures mean you have to make a few posts before you can link.

Atheism makes no sense to me.  To me, for somebody to not believe in some kind of a personal divinity or "God", is just illogical.

An article that represents balance here. Good find, BD.

I have to say that Dawkins has become almost as evangelical as those he opposes.

Much like any other faith that is in my face militant atheists are just as bad (IMHDO).

Agreed.  I like their arguments, but not their aggression - which will not stand.  Of the four horsemen, I like Daniel Dennett - he's the least antagonistic.
