Even an atheist would agree with this principle, I reckon. Am I wrong?

The Swami is going to start posting a Bible verse of the week, every week, to this discussion board.
The Swami is not going to "preach" to anybody, or otherwise attempt to evangelize; he is merely going to post a verse of the week, usually something from the Psalms or the Proverbs, maybe Ecclesiastes; in other words, I'll always post something that is on the more purely philosophical side, and not on the theological side
per se. And I decided to start by posting Proverbs 18:2, for a reason.
(Deleted by Mask. I'm out.)
Now why the fuck would you want to do that dude? For what purpose?
If you want to bring your Christian pov on a subject or post dude that's cool...that's cool, but just quoting bible verses for no other reason than to quote bible verses sound a lot like "bible thumping" to me dude.
Please do not forget about our deal Swami.

I'm not here to shove any Bible-talk down your throat, so kindly please do not shove any of your anti-theism down mine. Deal?
That is the deal "dude".
I will abide the deal if you do. 8)
reading the board the past few days it looks like there has been quite a bit of anti-Christian postings going on....not sure if that is because you have been posting or not, but you will not be doing yourself or this board any favors by just posting bible verses without a dude like reason.
We may have to call the fucks down at the league office to get a ruling on this.
Now I do not want you to quit and leave the board....you Christian pov may add a little balance, but in any case you are still welcome to participate and voice your pov just as long as you are willing to listen to others as well. if you listen sometimes you just may learn something.
after all:
"A fool finds no satisfaction in trying to understand, for he would rather express his own opinion." (Proverbs 18:2, ISV) 8)

I am going to put the translation that is most hated because it is Dudely to mainstream Christianity.. The New Living Translation:
Fools have no interest in understanding;
they only want to air their own opinions
I knew there was a reason I dig this hated translation.
27. Listening Occasionally
A good bowler leaves no pins standing;
A good tenant leaves the rent under the door;
A good husband leaves the toilet seat down;
A good friend leaves you the fuck alone;
A good caller leaves a message after the beep.
Takes a minute.
So the Dude digs your style
And says, "Fuck it."
He accepts everything
And says, "I'm sorry, I wasn't listening."
He bathes with candles, whale songs, and Mr. Bubble.
Thus Walter must speak for Donny,
For Donny is like a child who wanders into the middle of a movie;
If Walter is not respected
Then no one will give a shit about the rules;
We will enter a world of pain, and die face down in the muck;
Pacifism is not something to hide behind;
Many learned men have disputed this.
Tao Te Ching: 27. Attention
A good traveller leaves no trail to be followed
A good speaker leaves no question to be asked
A good accountant leaves no working to be checked
A good container leaves no lock to be picked
A good fastener leaves no knot to be unravelled
So the sage nurtures all men
And abandons no one.
He accepts everything
And rejects nothing.
He attends to the smallest details.
So the strong must guide the weak,
For the weak are raw material to the strong.
If the guide is not respected
Or the material is not nurtured
Confusion will result, no matter how clever one is.
This is the essence of subtlety.
49. The World of Pain of Others
The Dude does not distinguish between Lenin and Lennon;
He looks for the ones who will benefit;
This affects all of us.
He digs those who are a Lebowski;
He also digs those who are not a Lebowski;
That's terrific.
He does business with those who are wrong;
He also does business with those who are not wrong, but are assholes;
He doesn't want to be a hard-on about this.
He is in harmony with the World;
So he abides the Worlds of others.
You know, it's just a game, man.
Mark it 8.
Tao Te Ching: 49. The Worlds of Others
The sage does not distinguish between Self and World;
Therefore the needs of the people of the World are as his own.
He is good to those who are good;
He is also good to those who are not good;
For love is goodness.
He trusts those who are trustworthy;
He also trusts those who are not trustworthy;
For love is trust.
He is in harmony with the World;
So he nurtures the Worlds of others
As a mother does her children.
Rev. Shagbeard, I am not worried about some atheistic haters' getting all worked up about my Bible Verse of the Week. These men are cowards. Besides, the Supreme Court has roundly rejected prior restraint.
Dudeistaka 3. "One should remember the name of the Dude in a humble state of mind, thinking oneself lower than the straw in the street; one should be more tolerant than a tree, devoid of all sense of false prestige, and ready to offer all respect to others. In such a state of mind one can remember the name of the Dude constantly."

I don't think you are going to make any friends here doing this.
I am not a christian. I own a couple of copies of the bible. If I want biblical quotes I will go to one of my copies.
You are actually contradicting yourself "The Swami is not going to "preach" to anybody" contradicts "The Swami is going to start posting a Bible verse of the week, every week".
I have to be honest, I have no interest in your bible quotes. Don't bother. I have spent more time than most (since my early teens) studying religions (christianity included) I have made my religious decisions based on informed, balanced, understanding.
I don't mind you quoting from the bible in context of a thread, I do mind you doing this.
If you don't like it, then don't read it. With all respect, of course.

Nope I was just quoting from Dao De Jing and Dude De Ching for comparison. Just saying.
Oh dear oh dear oh dear!
So are you doing this to attack or criticise our dudeist cherished beliefs and our institution? (dictionary definition of iconoclast) Your user name has no meaning!
Or because you wish to destroy our church?
Or are you just a puritan.
Take your biblical references and your bible and stuff it up your arse.
Or better still shut the fuck up!

OK, dude, I respect your right to religion and belief. But it sounds like you don't and won't give me the same respect because I'm an atheist.
For that reason I shall respectfully decline to discuss anything with you or reply to any of your posts or messages from now on. I really feel let down, sir.
Goodbye and sally forth.
NOTE: I am NOT speaking for the owner, administrators, and/or moderators of this forum.
As an admin of a tin-hat forum I'm well aware of people claiming "free speech". The thing is, these forums are private property, you do NOT, NEVER DID, NEVER WILL, have free speech while in/on/using private property. The Supreme Court has always upheld that.
To put it another way, "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason."
K, who has the balls to punt this punk and give him a virtual finger-flick?
Don't EVER call anyone on this forum a coward. Over the line dude. I think you're a young testosterony punk looking to stir shit up with what YOU think we should think dudeism is. Fuck off and troll somewhere else.

Homonid: I mean no harm, nor am I a a "troll". Can I get a hug, man, please?
I wouldn't hug you if there was only cow pats to hug Iconoclesiatses....whatever...
You're not a troll...you're an antagonist. You're not a christian...you're a Dude baiter....we're better than that. You don't deserve to be booted...you need to be ignored. Totally.
Go away little boy you're not welcome.
Please don't ban him Admins. But can everyone please just ignore him totally.
Peace.
I won't apologize for my strong opinions, but will concede with the wishes of the admins. You mean no harm? You called us cowards. Don't be surprised at anyone's reaction to your overt beliefs in your sky daddy, particularly when your posts are strongly flavoured with said belief. I didn't join dudeism to get preached at; many of us here left various old-school religions for very good reasons and dislike having it splashed in our faces.
I don't want him banned because we don't want another christian martyr bleating about how undude we all are...simples...let him stay...he'll get bored! :)
"Coward;" is that a person who eats Cows? You know, like In N' Out Burgers? ;D ...those are good burgers, Walter.

Hell no, that's awesome. Dine there often?
I'd like to ask you about asking him about opening up over here in the UK!!? :)
Ah well, it is my cousin that is owner. I asked if it would be going to any other states than CA and was told no. So I get no burgers here in NY.
I wish we had In 'N Outs in Kentucky, I always wanted to try them. Yet another reason (among many) to want to move to California.
My one and only post about the actual content of this thread is this: While I'm definitely in the "ignore until it goes away" camp, if continued threads of this precise nature continue to pop up, can the admins please delete them? Or create a subforum for it? That way I (and others like me) can actively avoid it. I really don't want to see this shit, and don't want it peeing on the rug.
I've explored, participated, and studied many forms of Paganism. I'm loosely a Buddhist, I'm definitely a Dudeist, I'm most certainly an athiest, and the shit I've been through (and continue to go through) pretty much proves I'm no fuckin' coward. (Don't ask, it's private, and my cross to bear... har har). I'm all for religious and philosophical discussions, but if I wanted to read Bible passages - again, (I'm quite familiar with the book, as I studied it in my youth, partly hence why I'm now an athiest) then I'd go out and buy a fuckin' Bible.

Franchising ? In-N-Out
adamantly refuses to franchise so that it can keep tight control over its operations.
"We're definitely not franchising, and we're not going to sell," Torres told the OC Register. So don't expect any mass expansion of In-N-Out any time soon." - Lynsi Torres, the 30-year-old owner and president of In-N-Out.
