Hamburger Chef Jamie Oliver Proves McDonald's Burgers "Unfit for Human Consumption"
Oliver repeatedly explained to the public, over several years in documentaries, television shows and interviews that the fatty parts of beef are "washed" in ammonium hydroxide and used in the filling of the burger. Before this process, according to the presenter, the food is deemed unfit for human consumption.
According to the chef and hamburger enthusiast, Jamie Oliver, who has undertaken a war against the fast food industry, Basically, we're taking a product that would be sold in the cheapest way for dogs, and after this process, is being given to human beings.

I think by this point of time pretty much everyone knows it's bad for you.
But hey, I'm still loving it. Used to eat a lot of McFood as a kid, very rarely now, but still with pleasure.
It's like if a guy busted into McDonalds screaming 'guys! what you eat is bad for your health!' and everyone would go 'yeah. so?'
It's exactly what it is: fast food. You have no time? Hungry? Angry? Tired? High? Go grab a few burgers unfit for human consumption and have yourself an unhealthy tasty time.
It's all fine as long as you don't include it into your usual meal cycle
Before long there will be food printers and recyclers... Walk up to Micky D's and have your burger and fries printed out :o
I only eat at burger king myself.
Eventually you will just put a code into your 3d printer and McD will charge you for the license to print your own Mac and Frys at home.
We're currently watching Jacques Pepin, Fast Food My Way. Somewhat different fast food. :)
I consider fast food things that run faster than I can catch them. :)
Sounds about right jdurand, but I am not a park ranger so I settle for already caught :D
We're having not-so-fast food for dinner. Free range, uncaged, ate what it wanted when it wanted, had a good life and then found itself in our freezer. I hope it had a good and happy life and thank it for being our dinner.

That is cruel... And, probably, delicious.
I've found myself understanding vegetarians lately, at least the ones who don't eat meat because every life is sacred.
But no sacredness can be greater than the taste of a piece of steak is in my mouth...
Just remember that those plants are just as alive as the animal, you're just moving from killing a chicken to killing plants. It's a personal choice, we just have to accept that to live we must kill other things. It's the circle of life.
Even with oat soda you're killing the grains and zillions of animals (yeast) to make it.
And killing is only cruel if you do it in a cruel way. I try to not do that.
Its kinda like a zen thing, a, wedding of a life to life thing. It lives on through giving life to the eater. Well, that's, just like, my opinion, man.
My thought: Life can not be created or destroyed, only passed on/shared.
I see we have a visitor trying to invite himself to dinner.

Just blowing my own trumpet here 3D printing food:
Hershey and 3D Systems join forces to develop 3D-printed food technology. (http://www.gizmag.com/3d-systems-hershey-food-printing/30492/?utm_source=Gizmag+Subscribers&utm_campaign=c1c63f836f-UA-2235360-4&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_65b67362bd-c1c63f836f-90419297)
Either because my frog family were farmers (including cattle) or because my mother's grandmother was Cree, I've always known where my food came from. I know that things die for others to live.
That's why I'm against sport hunting. If you don't eat it and use the rest for something you're doing the animal/plant/organism and yourself a dishonor.
Of course in Nova Scotia we had no problem scaring the shit out of visiting poachers who used bright lights against the wildlife. :)

Even the Jains have to eat something. Out of pure curiosity, I plan to give Jain cuisine a try sometime, but it's going to be rather hard for a standard flexitarian.
