Opinion about that still-living folk ?
I found his mockumentary 'I'm Still Here - the lost year of Joaquin Phoenix' quite genius. The man turned into humor his ego and Hollywood, and guess what ? He's stiill here.
Still living folk are fine, I've got a few personal great dudes and have shared one here as well.
It's hard for me to take anything Dudely away from this movie. While this is just my opinion and I'm well aware he was trying to get Kaufmanesque with this role, snorting coke or ketamin or whatever and acting like a spoiled rich brat, bizarre behavior, and seeming kind of dickish doesn't ring "Dude" to me.
While as an art piece the movie was great and I'm glad ol' JP isn't really this way, I simply can't endorse this.
But that's just my opinion.
I think he needed balls to mock the Hollywoodian square society that entirely, go through all the haters and laughters he met all along. We'd never know if P Diddy and all the other squared so-called 'artists' were aware of the project of this movie.
But I really could not stop laughing at seeing JP acting his real opinion (this is how I interpret the movie, dunno what was his mind about)
