I'm sure a lot of you Dudes have heard of this one, but this is a famous commencement speech that is basically about how to abide. It is considered one of the best commencement speeches ever written, and in my opinion is very Dudely.
There is a short 10 min video of the important parts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaVrn1Sz0H8 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaVrn1Sz0H8)
And the full speech here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhhC_N6Bm_s (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhhC_N6Bm_s)
I'd love to get some Dudes' thoughts on it.
Great thoughts, mang! Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I think this fits in nicely with the idea that it's our impressions of things that bother, scare, anger (you name it) us, not the things themselves.
Yes, thank you for the link. My kind of philosophy. I did a share on both Facebook and G+. 8)
While we are at it dudes....please take a look at the Do No Harm website linked as my signature.
I have been posting here since something like 2009 or so and we get very few visitors from this Dudeist forum. I'm just a little disappointed more dudes are not drawn to our do no harm philosophy.
By the way, in Dudespeak....do no harm translates as "Don't be a Dick"! 8)
I'm glad you guys like it. I'm currently writing a contextual analysis on it for school. I need to find some sources on awareness in neurology and so forth.
cckeiser, I will definitely check out the site. Sorry I guess I just never notice it on your signature.
