Title: Various forms of slacking
Post by: DigitalBuddha on November 14, 2013, 12:30:01 AM
Now dudes, we all know that it is widely understood that slacking (takin' er easy, man) is a well established tradition in Dudeism......

But how do you slack? I have my ways of doing so such as getting the mail out of my mailbox (about a 100 foot walk from my pad behind my garage) about every fours days. Or, hanging out in my jacuzzi smoking my pipe with an oat soda. Or, spending all day during the week watching movies!

So, dudes, your favorite methods of slacking are? 8)

A usual day off from work consists of tryin to keep my bungalo tidy for my special lady, maybe throw on some music or a movie, sit on the sofa, maybe plan a meal. I also have a bad addiction to this computer game I stumbled across so I'll intersperse my day with a few minutes (or hours) of that along with some rounds on the mala of the nembutsu or what have ya.

I just try to do my day job and work around the house at the same slack pace.  No need to have jarring transitions, just wander from one thing to the next.

Unless a customer needs something yesterday, but they never do that...right?  :)

Mmmm... hot springs sound good but for me is a nice walk to the park with the family, play some v-games, or plain and simple as to watch TBL for the... oh snap, I lost count.

I love to smoke a J and play Civilization V. It's where I let out my aggression. "WHAT? You son of a bitch, you're gonna settle beside me? That's it, it's WAR, motherfucker!"

I still prefer Civ III myself. I have Civ V  but it doesn't feel right to me as a Civ game.

Videogames, books, films, TV, listening to music. At the end of a long day I like to put some music on in the background and surf the web, I mean "surf" in the sense of riding where the wave takes me, not knowing where I'll end up. Discovered some interesting and hilarious things this way. I also like to record music, that's possibly the closest I get to zen (once I've set up all the annoying cables that is).

Peace

Slacking is brilliant man, It's an artform.

It's like, why empty the bin when you can just compress it down and fit more in?

An average day of slacking for me consists of watching a fuck-ton of films and drinking my weight in tea.

Going for a walks pretty cool too dudes, it may not be considered slacking by some but fuck it, that's like your opinion man.

I enjoy takin' 'er easy by waking up in a tent next my special lady friend, hearing the wuwuwaw-waa of relaxing morning progpsy tunes bouncing off the trees and strolling outside after rolling a jay and walking barefoot in the dirt and soaking it all in.

I agree Civ III was the best. Playing Civ V now, though. I may start a thread about that...

Best slacking IMO happen after having done shits cause I love to feel "hell yeah I deserve that".
We all deserve it anyway, anytime, or not, I don't know, but it makes me feel free to get deeeeep into it.

It's also pretty good during and after some exhausting "extreme abiding". Like having done deep dives and being completely fucked by blood's nitrogen concentrations and the strong slaking lived underwater, and then having nothing else to do than being on the beach or in a sweet tropical garden, with a blunt, a cocktail, and being like, fuck that's so good.

There's also sexual slacking which is awesome, how they call it ? Yep, an orgasm, a climax...

Slacking while procrastination grows is also a sweet vice. Especially when avoiding some work given by an asshole, or any administrative task, but it takes to abide and face consequences.

When I have a day off I slack off by having a few oat sodas, listen to some music or watch a movie. I usally do these while lying on the couch man.

I agree that slacking is an art form all its own. Is a balance though, too much slacking can cause problems in other areas, but in moderation, its a wonderfully therapeutic medium. I think one of the best forms is staying home from work one weekday and doing not much of anything besides lounging, eating and sleeping. I'm doing this today in fact, though not entirely on my own accord-was up in the wee hours with bowel issues man, didn't get much sleep and had no desire to use Porto johns all day at work if it kept up...
So I said fuck it and stayed home. Now I'm relaxing on the patio listening to nature's birds, the breeze in the woods, and the secadas. instead of my usual coffee which can blow me up, Im having a chai tea to be easy on the innards. It's sunny and the sky is deep blue with puffy, imagination-stirring clouds floating by... It doesn't suck man!
