Title: Another six-pack?
Post by: Masked Dude on October 09, 2013, 09:19:52 PM
I'm sitting here, probably having engulfed a few too many oat sodas. I probably won't make much sense. I've been feeling extremely undude lately. So many reasons. I've tried both fighting it or facing it head-on or being all Zenny and letting it flow. Neither works. Tried thinking about it (it's what I do; I think, and have been told I think too much sometimes) or ignoring it.

What the fuck? I've tried meditation (nope), cognitive type therapy (nope), and a lot of other things. It sucks.

Maybe it's the booze talking.

More oat sodas anyone?

Can't hurt.
Perhaps you tried being polite and now it's time to go full nuclear.
You can work on feeling good or you can work on annihilating bad feelings.
Give it another beer of 2 and if that don't to the trick hit the hard stuff.
Won't change anything substantially but it'll put giving a shit on hold for the night.

I'm not going to pretend to know your feelings of un-Dude (my own could be much different), so don't know how much my ramblings are going to help... But here they are, being in or out of their element. Not one thing is going to bring back Dudely feelings. I think the moment we adopt one strategy as a tool to get us out of a funk, we are only setting ourselves up for disappointment, especially if we aren't giving them time. I still feel that reaching too much for "happiness" or "Dudeliness" makes us ignore the good things around us. Zenny, go with the flow stuff helps us to be happy in the moment and helps us to let go of abstract goals that may seem so far away. I always like to just give things time. To let things come to me, and have an open mind to things that are serendipitous. Because I am a lazy man.
I think sometimes you just have to give it time and Dudeliness will come back all by itself.
Or maybe think back to when you were feeling Dude, and how things were different then...
Just a thought.
