Obama administration will not block state marijuana laws, if distribution is regulated
The Obama administration on Thursday said it will not stand in the way of Colorado, Washington and other states where voters have supported legalizing marijuana either for medical or recreational use, as long as those states maintain strict rules involving distribution of the drug.

Hmmm, might have to talk to my DH about moving to Vancouver Wa. when our lease is up... he might want to move there before it's up.
Still feeling let down Oregon didn't pass it! :-\
Not going to happen in Froggy Country...
High speed link from Paris to Amsterdam just ?35
Amsterdam is OK, but I really loved Maastricht, it's a shame that some cities (including Maastricht) in The Netherlands have outlawed selling to tourists, wonder if Haarlem is on the list of uptight cities? I loved Haarlem too, but Maastricht is like a fucking fairytale!
When we went to Amsterdam we wanted to leave almost immediately, it wasn't as laid back as I had imagined it to be or how DH remembered it. As we were looking for a coffee shop we noticed we were being followed by a HUGE guy who wanted to intimidate some money out of us. He crossed the line, my DH is a pretty big dude so he went Walter on him. I'm so glad I wasn't alone cause that was a pretty scary guy. Typically we don't mind panhandlers and will often give them something but not if they act like a dick about it. Never had that problem in smaller cities.
Our Amsterdam highlight was finding a coffee shop named Abraxas we spent a few hours there. I bought a gift for a friend and the very stoned saleslady asked me if I wanted it gift wrapped I said alstublieft (please), we were so stoned we couldn't stop laughing at her precision and how long it took (over half an hour for one little gift), she was very zen-like in her wrapping, it was wrapped beautifully, ever corner and piece of tape was perfect, the hand curled ribbons were exquisite - we still laugh about it even though we can't remember what the gift was. So glad US customs or TSA didn't tear the artistically wrapped gift apart when we got back to the states.
The few other Amsterdam coffee shops we visited seemed so uptight, we got our goodies to go in the uptight ones, they didn't even offer gift wrap.

I'm pro-weed, though I'm not a toker. But I'm considering pushing either full marijuana or at least medical marijuana in my state (North Carolina). I'm considering in the interim to ask my doc about Marinol, because my migraines have started to affect work. I can't take my old Imitrex anymore, so I'm going to ask him about it next time.
Personally I haven't found smoking a j helps a headache though I appreciate migraines are a bit different but for muscular pain it does
Yeah, there are four types of headaches. I studied them intensely, so I know a bit (all not making me a medical expert, mind you). Experts have recently learned that migraines are not actually caused by blood vessels, but that blood flow is a side effect. It seems it starts in the base of the brain. I've looked into medical studies for migraines and it seems that for many, cannabis helps. I don't know if it will help, though. If it doesn't, at least I get to spend a little bit of time high as a kite... legally. :)

Wow, Nijmegen looks awesome! Then again so much of Holland looks awesome, wish I could move there!
10 years. I see it being a norm in that time with a few states (New York and Connecticut to name a few) being the last hold outs. And here's hoping that the paper and other industry's that use wood base starts really focusing on the properties of hemp and we go through a different kind of "green" revolution.
If you will it, it is their dream dude

This gives a state by state run down on the laws.
