I wonder whether I could get your opinion about the following:
Some time ago I learned from German (I live in Germany) media that Clint Eastwood verbally attacked Obama. Now, I had started to think about Clint Eastwood as a guy who is quite reflective and critical about many things, not exactly a dudeist but at the same time not the "Murcan" he more or less depicted in earlier movies, and he has made (just my opinion) quite some noteworthy movies. Just think of Unforgiven, J.Edgar Hoover, Gran Torino etc.
Can anybody enlight me what the controversy really was about?

Nope, can't figure out what's up with Clint. He makes movies with inclusive and progressive themes, but then he yells at empty chairs. It is very curious.

I found a clip of Eastwood's talk on youtube. Find it hard to understand, and not so, because it was in English.
He seemed rather confused, and sometimes it's not even clear, whether he addressed all politicians in his tirade,
Anyway, just my opinion, but I think he better would not have given that speech.

He had been asked to speak, but didn't have anything planned. To me, it showed that he, like Obama, isn't much good without a prepared speech and teleprompter.
However, he's a better actor. Clint, that is.
...and a brilliant movie director, if I may add this.

The only real controversy is that Clint is a movie actor which doesn't always translate well onto the live stage and he made a fool of himself at an advanced age in front of the republican party.
What the fuck was Clint blathering about? ??? I do respect Clint as a actor and a director.
He's a cool son of a bitch, but I don't think anyone knows what he was talking about.
