Title: Ultimate dude
Post by: DigitalBuddha on June 03, 2013, 08:45:46 AM
So dudes, I'm sitiin' here in FUCKIN' HOT Florida enjoying my coffee (i'm staying) in this family restaurant at the Board Walk Resort, Disney World (AKA, Plastic Land). Only reason I'm drinking hot cof-fe' is because they blast the air con in this cof-fe'shop/bar, so it's all cool (literally). While sitting here and doing some hopefully dude-like meditation, I was thinking on the subject of who I thought would be a great example of an ultimate dude," a ultimate dude for his or her time. But then I got to thinking if a dude was thought to be one, would it not be highly subjective? And then I thought, in some group mind sort of way, could it not be said that all dudes as a whole would comprise the "ultimate dude?" A sort of "collective wisdom," "collective experience," "collective way of life" sort of thing? Dudes who are individuals and free thinkers, but who collectively make up the "ultimate dude?" Can it be said that no matter who we are or where we are in life, as dudes, we all contribute the "ultimate dude." Could the ultimate dude only be all of us?

Thoughts dude?

OK then, I'm staying, finishing my cof-fe'.

Huh...I like that vision, all of us in the network as elements of the Ultimate Dude... Worth wrapping my mind around as I drink my coffee here on break at work...

Dude, this is nihilism.

Quote'Games such as The Sims Series, and Second Life are designed to be non-linear and to depend on collective intelligence for expansion. This way of sharing is gradually evolving and influencing the mindset of the current and future generations.[22] For them, collective intelligence has become a norm. In Terry Flew's discussion of 'interactivity' in the online games environment, the ongoing interactive dialogue between users and game developers,[30] he refers to Pierre Levy's concept of Collective Intelligence (Levy 1998) and argues this is active in videogames as clans or guilds in MMORPG constantly work to achieve goals. Henry Jenkins proposes that the participatory cultures emerging between games producers, media companies, and the end-users mark a fundamental shift in the nature of media production and consumption. Jenkins argues that this new participatory culture arises at the intersection of three broad new media trends.[31]"

But no kidding, this idea of collective dudeness shall prevail.

Abide ;)

My special lady friend and I hit the Florida Mouse House (DisneyWorld) for a few days and enjoyed some time of dude-like slacking. A few burgers, a few beers; our troubles were over, dude. Was a good time had by all. 8)
