Wow that got out of hand fast. I'd be interested to see some kind of expose on this friction between the westerners and sherpas.
It was also kind of interesting to hear about how the news teams just started making assumptions right off the bat.

I understand the sherpas being a bit pissed.
More and more groups are winging it without sherpa support.
Of course they are more than willing to wait for the sherpas to run ropes that they clip into without hesitation and without compensating the sherpa for risking life and limb.
In this case I guess that the group climbed immediately after they finished running lines and dislodged ice and rocks down the mountain on the descending sherpa group.
That's as I understand the incident.
