Creflo Dollar. Man, the phrase "What's in a name?" pops up every time I see his "shows" (ads for money, really).
Benny Hinn's a hoot to me for the simple fact that he once said "People who light incense are worshiping demons." Holy shit man, my own mother has been worshiping Satan for over 3 decades? Who knew?
Those are the ones I know by name off the top of my head. There are equally amusing ones out there that I'm stuck seeing from time to time at my work whom I don't know the name of. Look up "Kids' Time" on the 3ABN Network and their related kids' programming if you want to hear some *very* creepy voices, bad acting, and troubling takes on Bible stories.
Oh shit, I can't remember the guy's name but it was the one who was all up in arms against gay marriage and then it was found out that he was hooking up with gay prostitutes off of Craig's list. Joe Rogan did a bit about this guy that was a fuckin' scream. I laughed so hard when I was listening to it I almost micturated in my pants. The funniest part of the bit was when Rogan talked about "the cure" for this guy's habit that was administered by a group of deacons or assistant ministers from his mega-church. Gawd, it was fuckin' hilarious.
Anybody know this guy's name. I lost my train of thought which is easy because it's so fuckin' short.
In his own defense he explained that the whole thing was the result of "a massage that went awry". Shit, even his defense was hilarious.

There's another one out there - Sid Roth, a Messianic preacher. He sounds so safe and pleasant at first but then you get hit with his message...
I know more than one fundamentalist who fell for Oral Roberts and Jimmy Swaggart too.
And who can forget that Crystal Cathedral mess?
No matter which televangelist it is, the offering plate sure seems to be full and they drive better cars than most of us do.
No, it wasn't Swaggart. This one was more recent. I know who you're thinking of, but I can't remember his name either.

You would think they would believe the book they preach. According to the Good Book, these assholes are going to fry in hell................
"In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction and damnation has not been sleeping."Or, as the King James version says.................
"And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not." - 2 Peter 2:3
Holy shit, if I believed that I would be shitting my pants!!
And check out this asshole................

Nope: we see them for the charlatans they are and ridicule them! We've never had them to be fair!
Phil Collins said it best! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EprQGmZ3Imw

Yeah, but didn't the Bishop of Scotland recently resign in a huff because of his, uh, "improper relations" with another man? (One could say he was a different kind of charlatan.)
Okay, there was Paul Crouch, Ted Haggard... I think it was Haggard who was the one you're thinking of though. Who knows? There's quite a list to choose from:

Yes he did. But he was a Roman Catholic. Not a TV evangelist. He's resigned and we're still waiting to hear what he actually did! I think by resigning he might think he's got away with whatever it was. Nah! They'll pursue him! :) Watch this space.
I was brought up as a catholic. We had vicious nuns at our school and a couple of bastard priests. One of them, Father Gallagher, was an alcoholic who was shagging his housekeeper.
In the same dioces was an orphans home Nazareth house http://annfreespirit.50megs.com/photo3.html (http://annfreespirit.50megs.com/photo3.html)
This is not pretty reading so don't even try if you get distressed easily!
Peace dudes.

I think you're right. I tried to find the Rogan bit on You Tube and all I could come up with was this bit by Bill Maher.

It's got some funny parts but it's no Rogan.
Oops, I should have clarified. I knew he was a Catholic priest. My referring to him as a charlatan would probably have made more sense if I had used the word "hypocrite" instead. :)
Charlatan, Catholic Priest... same thing dude same thing! :)

Nihilists, man!
What's sad is they get away with their BS because they have an easy time gathering followers. What does that say about us?
