Title: My favorite Asimov story
Post by: BrotherShamus on March 20, 2013, 09:02:30 PM
Just thought you guys would like this short story. Its called "The Last Question". It follows the development of mankind and a supercomputer they use (kind of like the internet). Throughout the ages, man keeps asking the computer the same question, which it cannot answer. The story covers billions of years, but it only takes like 15-20 minutes the read.

Yeah, that story is up there. I also like his short-story mysteries. The series of stories with Dr. Wendell Urth is great - reads like a space age Sherlock Holmes.

Ok, the BBC version of TLOR is atmospheric, absorbing, nuanced, and just so focused. It's epic. I stopped listening to the Game of Thrones audiobooks after hearing the first 30 seconds of TLOR. So far, it's the most engaging audiobook I've ever read...er, listened to, that is.

Fuckin' eh; it's been one of my favorite audio dramas for years. First heard it on radio station KCRW FM in Los Angeles in the 80's. Fabulous stuff, mang!
