The end for keyboards and mice?
Apple's iPhone and its rivals may have introduced touchscreens to the masses, but now a raft of technologies promise to change the way we interact with computers forever.

I find the more that electronic stuff gets welded onto my brain the harder it is to get a sense of inner peace and balance.
The real amazing thing is the xbox Kinnect.
Turns of that Microsoft actually did a way cool thing there.
The sensor is actually a super precise 3D modeler.
People are building 3D printers with it and supposedly they are working on an application like the holographic stuff in Minority Report where you just control the interface with arm movements and shit. A pair of goggles and the interface appears in mid air just like the movie. Now that is cool shit mang.
Controlling 3D monitors with arm movements is very tiring. Apparently Cruise had to take breaks in the filming due to it being just plain exhausting. Didn't I read that here somewhere?

Though it will never catch (the Minority Report interface) on as an interface, try standing around for eight hours waving your arms about. in the film they had to keep stop filming because Tom couldn't spend more than a short time standing there acting the movements. A more likly (and more usable) interface is th type of thing shown on "Black Mirror" the other week. The interface covers both the monitor area and the desk top with a touch sensative lcd (or more likly oled) screen, looks like a single sheet that you can open things on the table top and move them up in front of you.

Was that type of interface used in a few recent bond movies?
I finally found a picture:

It makes more sense to do it this way so you have a "desktop" area, and a "monitor" area but can move stuff from one to the other (do see her using it in the program Black Mirror, "Be back soon").

Hey M dude, do you have a video of that? Would be cool to see it in action.
All that stuff is cute, but imagine trying to post to the Dudeism.com forum with it. If it can't make that easy, it's not worth having.

Db you're going to have to get hold of "Black mirror" (by the excellent Charlie Brooker) episode "Be Right Back"

I actually like to touch keys and buttons. I like the way they feel.
