Title: Has anyone thought about this?
Post by: DigitalBuddha on February 21, 2013, 01:47:25 AM
I nominate the Dude's Father, Lloyd Bridges, as a great dude in history.

The dude and his Father.......

That photo was taken in Southern California, in the area "MarineLand of the Pacific" used to be (which is now a resort called "Terranea Resort," Palos Verdes). They used to film "Sea Hunt" there. The location (of the photo) is about a mile or two from where Donny's ashes are scattered. Also, at the Terranea Resort, there is a family restaurant named after the Dude's father called "Nelson's." A way cool place to get a burger worthy of an In-and-out-Burger......

Recognized as one of the top ten eco-friendly bars in the U.S., Nelson's is furnished with items using recycled material - the bar countertop is made of recycled wine bottles. Nelson's is a tribute to Mike Nelson, the character played by Lloyd Bridges in the famed Sea Hunt television series, much of which was filmed at Marineland some 50 years ago. Mr. Bridges was a pioneer in environmental awareness and his Sea Hunt character was instrumental in bringing the message to the world that the oceans are one of our most vital resources which we should do all we can to preserve.

Hominid, dude. Same here; "Seahunt" was my fav as a kid. Inspired me to learn scuba diving. Lloyd Bridges was my childhood hero!"

Terranea Resort (Nelson's is the almost hard to see brown building far left, about an inch and a half from the bottom of the photo)......
