In the above link, I've posted the page from the Today Show website that's irking me this morning. I just saw them talking about this on the TV. This uptight lady is on the TV saying that VW's Super Bowl commercial is extremely offensive because the commercial features people using fake Jamaican accents to display how happy they are after driving/riding in a VW Bug. She equated it as being just as offensive as using black-face, which is complete bullshit. She ain't even black! She's a stuffy old woman who shouldn't be affected by this at all. How far is white guilt going to go, man? Over the line! Mark it zero!
I personally feel that the commercial has a whimsical feel to it, and it's clearly not meant to be taken seriously anyway. A VW Bug is just as likely to make you sound Jamaican as TAG body spray is likely to make a mob of women chase you out of nowhere. It's supposed to be comical. Works fine for me too, the commercial made me laugh. Get the hell over yourself, crazy lady. *takes a breath* alright... I've had my rant.. I feel better now 8)
