Personally, I thought it was a hoot, with the comedy of all of them quoting each other's lines from their classic movies.

Well, it was a violent movie, so some may think it's undude for that reason. But the comedy made me howl with laughter...

I often wonder why so-called "celebrities" are considered by themselves, and others, to be important and what they have to say to be of greater value than anyone else?

It's just like their opinion, man.

It's our celebrity culture that we created with our own money. We vote for Hollywood every time we buy a DVD, go to a movie, rent from Netflix... I guess it's up to ourselves to NOT care what they say, and teach our children to do the same.

Mark it 8 dudes.
Finally watched it after making the mistake of downloading through iTunes and really enjoyed it.
No point trying to be high brow with these kind of films; just enjoy the mayhem.
And chuck Norris rules!

Stallone is 'this guy with guns and explosions' but I think he is a dude nevertheless. He does not like to play sadistic cowards. One of the most famous lines from 'Rocky' is 'But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!' which I think is more defence than attack.
The first part of 'Rocky' and Stallone's less known movie 'Paradise Alley' are essentially movies about a dude trying to abide and using boxing/wrestling as a way to do it. Cosmo Carboni from 'Paradise Alley' is always ready to do some business with his friends and it looks like wrestling may be the right thing.
'Expendables' have some brutal scenes - after all it is an action movie about soldiers - but those things mentioned before make me feel more tolerant.
