Title: dudeism symbol
Post by: always abides on August 28, 2008, 06:41:23 PM
does anyone know where I can get a higher quality image of the dudeism symbol?  I am playing around with it in photoshop but I would like a higher resolution image, any help would be far out, man.

I certainly don't want to come across as a fucking park ranger or anything like that, but at risk of splitting hairs in the parlance of our times, doesn't the dudeism symbol also have the 22 small lines radiatig outwards?  To me, it seems incomplete without them.  Although as is, it certainly will be a kick-ass tattoo.

you bring up a good point, and I actually tried to make the small lines, but I didn't spend enough time to finish something I liked.  when I have more time I plan to try to add the lines.  here is a new idea I came up with tonight   (http://photos-001.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v329/123/75/1604940001/n1604940001_30120664_7278.jpg)we'll see if i can get any lines in the future ;)

According to the secret "Book of New Shit Come To Light":

"The Dudeist yinyang bowling symbol is valid both with the radial lines emanating from it, and without. It may appear hither and thither in both incarnations."

For a tattoo you'd probably be better off leaving the lines out.

I'm very very agree with forumdude, i think you have to put the radial lines in the symbol, it gives a very religious character, Dudeism, the light of the life.

The concept is very similar to this:

and here is my version with radial lines, there are 23 lines though...not 21, i am no park ranger and couldn't figure out how to exactly space them and such, but fuck it

Wouldn't you take the circumference and divide by whatever number of lines and the answer would be the distance of distribution between lines?

I'm no math ranger but that's just like my opinion, man!

if you do it by using radial lines the angle between each one would be 16.36degrees, if that helps any :D

Oh yes, fuck it, that's your answer for everything

Take my advice, do what your parents did

Get radial lines sir, and get them exactly right

My radial lines were taken from me in Los Angle-iss

They call Los Angeles the City of
Angels.  I didn't find it to be that
exactly, but I'll allow as there are
some nice folks there.  'Course, I
can't say I seen London, and I never
been to France, and I ain't never
seen no queen in her damn undies as
the fella says.  But I'll tell you
what, after seeing Los Angeles and
thisahere story I'm about to unfold--
wal, I guess I seen somethin' ever'
bit as stupefyin' as ya'd see in any
a those other places, and in English
too, so I can die with a smile on my
face without feelin' like the good
                         Lord gypped me.
