It's pretty obvious that Stonehenge was built by aliens. There's no way that cave-men could have shifted stones that big.

Unless said cavemen knew something we don't know. Funny, though, that you should mention aliens; I think Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke got their idea of the "monolith" from Stonehenge...........

I was in St Pauls cathedral a while ago.I walked in and looked up and thought"No way man".I mean, Who the fuck built this shit? It must have been aliens or something. And then I thought "Why? What the fuck was it for"? I guess we'll never know.

IMO Christianity has created a mind set even among non Christians that previous people were like just going along with some ritual or other. There seems to be a complete incomprehension, especially among archaeologists, that our ancestors could be just as devout or even more so than people today.I don't reckon stoneage folks lugged rocks from all over creation just to build a fucking calendar. To create an edifice like Stonehenge must have required a belief system of immense proportions. The reason that it lines up with the solstices is the same reason churchs were built with the altar in the east.It complied with the story. And another thing. The Hippies and what have you are there at the wrong solstice. The Christians didn't invent 'Christmas'.Seasons Geetings dudes.

I think it's just another example of the fact that in many cases the modern mind can't seem to wrap itself around the great lengths that those in the past were willing to go to in order to show their devotion to whatever they viewed as a creator, great spirit, or what have you.  I can only imagine the great amount of effort that a structure like that would have required, and I am in great aww even of seeing it only in pictures.  Who knows maybe there's a few lanes off to the east where they used some round stones to knock down a few small pin shaped stones between bouts of heavy lifting.

That'll be where pub skittles originated.
