Title: Ahhhh, Correct me if I'm mistaken...
Post by: DigitalBuddha on October 17, 2012, 10:21:37 PM
:o So, I thought the world was supposed to end this year by around September? Am I wrong, or do I have plenty of time to drink more beer and enjoy an In-And-Out-Burger before the year's end and we all mark it zero? 8)

Nah man, we got time a plenty for some burgers and oat sodas. I don't buy the doomsday prophecy ideas. I mean, yeah the world will be eaten by the sun eventually but I don't anticipate it anytime soon. I believe what all these Armageddon stories are trying to get at is, man is not divinely indestructible. If we don't chill the fuck out, remove our imaginary lines between each other and live better, then the path we are walking will lead the human "world" to it's demise. If we don't correct the course ourselves, I think the earth will do it for us and I don't think we will like what it has in mind. The natural way of things is balance and homeostasis. Yin and Yang. These things are key to the pattern of existence. Can we do it? I dunno... Beautiful sunrise this morning over the Smoky Mountains my fellows dudes, keep abiding.

As I've said before on this subject, the Mayans where not an opocolyptic society. We through the warped lense of the christians look at the calander and "assume" that because it doesn't go any further it is the "end of the world". Actually the calander finishes a bigger cycle of the mayan calander of which I beleive we have another four or five, each of which last millenia.

Milliways! In my opinion it was the best book of the series.

In spite of having taken what he regarded as an extremely positive piece of action, the Grebulon Leader ended up having a very bad month after all.It was pretty much the same as all the previous months except that there was now nothing on the television any more. He put on a little light music instead.
After examing the book thoroughly, even shaking it loosely to see if I'd missed any pages, I finally decided that I wished Wowbagger the Infinately Prolonged would pay Douglas Adams a visit.

A crazy friend of mine once considered a career inspired by Wowbagger the Infinitely Prolonged; that of insulting everyone on earth at least once. ;D

Thanks for the digital love man. Sadly, neither my computer or phone want to play with that file. Some type of decoding error. I don't know shit about anything and doubly so for anything tech related, so I guess I'll leave it at that. I do own the Ultimate Hitchhikers guide in real book form though and it has been well loved. Any who, I guess sometimes you eat the bar, and sometimes, well, the bar eats you. Keep abiding man!

The whole apocalyptic forecast for this year is no different than the planetary alignment that was supposed to happen in the eighties, then Y2K came along - (as I called it "Y2 yawn"), and now this.  The only people benefiting from the fear-mongering are the survivalist supply houses and generator manufacturers.

I never travel without my towel. It is 'mostly' dry.Come to think of it,there is a great deal in common between the Dude and Arthur Dent. They are both just letting the world pass by when some anti social types come and up set things and then a hyper active friend takes charge and all hell breaks loose. And they both prefer a rather relaxed style of dress;to whit, one bathrobe/dressing gown.
