Deleted? This is our concern, dude. What mean?
It was an old post. I just wanted to make sure it was no longer just a test site and now a full on up and running deal. I literally just learned of its existence and would like to have a good networking site. I just didn't want to post stuff if its a test run still.
Never heard of it. Please post the URL so we can all share in the fun...
Hey Forum Dude: any comments?
www.therug.org
Hm. Took a quick tour... looks pretty lame dude. Not very organic...
Eh.... I'm just looking for something on the off chance facebook blows up into a full on MySpace crap. I would be happy if it were more like this forum with some extra options. I think if more used it and more people put in input it could improve. If someone wanted it to change.

It's an old-school bulletin board basically. What we need is a "DudeBook". Though, this forum environment isn't half-bad.
Ah... Makes sense. Dude-book would be cool or if they could tweak the rug to a format as such it would be cool. Just my opinion.
I have an account there, but I like this board better...simpler to move about here...and besides....I'm a janitor here so I needs to keep a close eye on this place.
I guess The Rug was a good idea that just did not catch on.
I just learned about it. I think my biggest gripe is I'm used to the old facebook setup. Kind of a creature of habit. And I totally dig this forum.

OK, cool, was just checking to see if your were saying a post of yours had been deleted. No worries, dude.
Yeah development stalled for a while. I have a guy programming a far out system as we speak. Should be in beta in a week or so. Not sure if it should be therug.org or dudeism.net
I'm not sure that the community of forum users is big enough to split, so we should be sure that there isn't duplicate function between the rug and forum.

awesome!!!!! I was pretty much just curious. I dig the concept. And Leopoldrose, I completely agree to that. I just didn't want to actively build a profile there if the test stage wasn't over yet. Looking forward to seeing what develops dudes.
the rug.org seems way too created, in no way organic... i like this site because its simple, created for the purpose, with some err.... rust colorations.... and a briefcase,
but yeah, this one does me just fine (unless the nihilists are going to do the internet version of setting it on fire)
the rug will be similar to facebook but with an emphasis on helping dudeists meet up in real life - start their own parishes, go bowling, organize events, etc. sort of like a mix between meetup.com and facebook. the programming we're working on now is location oriented - so people can find other dudeists in their neighborhood. but we hope to evolve it any way the dudeocracy sees fit. feel free to offer suggestions!

A special section for meeting local female forms for some, aahhh, ummm, dudeist-like fellowship? ;D
Far out. I fucking dig it.
yeah, we hope to have a dating portion of the site. if only we can attract the sufficient number of lonely heiresses who need help in conceiving....
but yeah, since dudeism is about 75 percent male there might be a feeding frenzy on any and all females! which could be good for them but hopefully won't make the whole thing feel undude. we'll test the waters.

I dig your style, forumdude. ;D
Ok, so how can we make this place more attractive to Lady friends? ???
When I first joined the Male to Female ratio was 1 to 1.5...yeah, there were more female dudes signed on then male dudes. Now it's 3.9 male to every 1 female...and we very seldom hear from the ladies.
What changed since then? Is it Me? ??? 8)
I don't know man, I don't want to sound like a square, but if I was a female dude browsing these posts, every time I saw a poster saying "vagina" as a response to a thoughtful prompt it would be a turn off. Just my opinion man, but i've been seeing a lot of that round these parts lately.
I know that it's a word that shows up in the movie, and no, it doesn't offend me, but while the dude may have been a lot of things, juvenile was not one of them.
Are we regular types going to have a chance to get in on that beta stuff, dude?
Think a dating section is necessary? Figure if a love connection's gonna happen, it's gonna happen.

Does the female form make you uncomfor- table, Mr. Lebowski?
DUDE
Is that what that's a picture of?
MAUDE
In a sense, yes. Elfranco, my robe.
My art has been commended as being
strongly vaginal. Which bothers
some men. The word itself makes
some men uncomfortable. Vagina.
DUDE
Oh yeah?
MAUDE
Yes, they don't like hearing it and
find it difficult to say. Whereas
without batting an eye a man will
refer to his "dick" or his "rod" or
his "Johnson".
DUDE
"Johnson"?

Like it or not we are nearly synonymous with the movie.
Movies tend to split along gender lines.
I suspect that sort of audience would be pretty close to the split you get for the movie.
It ain't a chick flick.
As far a the original preponderance of females... perhaps they were the crusading types who tend to get their panties in a twist over something called "Dudeism".
Apparently they have been pacified?
Pretty sure they don't get their panties in a twist any more than you or I get a dick in a knot over any of it. ;)
Perhaps we could ask the women who are here to weigh in themselves.

Good idea!
Are there any lady dudes here? What do you think?
Where I come from, euphemisms for reproductive body parts and the actions thereof are frequently heard and this does not surprise me given the purile nature of many people I encounter. However, and I'm fairly sure this is down to pure ignorance,I've never heard the words penis and vagina used in public.

You're talking about me. *I* got the habit from a female dude. Yes, female. Cracked me up every time she'd post. It's become an endearing part of my lovely personality; an adjunct to my otherwise serious and boring modus operandi. The occasional injection of an exclamatory "VAGINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!" - to me - provides a tinge of comic relief. The point being that we can't take things too seriously here dude... and when we do, well, count on me (or Hannah dude) to shake it up. Call us whackos if you want, but it's who we are I guess.
Or...
Tell me to be mature, and I will. I just won't post as much.

Hominid dude, it wouldn't be a real forum without your exclamations of vagina. I think it would be pass. I mean to be honest in this digital little beach community here, I think its almost expected. But maybe I have no frame of reference here.

It's all tongue-in-cheek dude... no-one's gonna stomp on my vagina. Er... well, you know what I mean...

The word it's self does not make us uncomfortable.
Post away.
