While we recognize that playing the president of the United States in a movie (The Contender, 2000) does not necessarily prepare one for actually being president of the United States, it probably doesn't hurt. Moreover, Bridges' role as "The Dude" in the Big Lebowski (1998) has been presumed to be somewhat evocative of the actor's real-life personality (he even wore his own clothes in the movie), and we firmly believe that "The Dude" would make an excellent figurehead of our troubled nation.
