This reminded me of this old zen story about two monks crossing a river. At the river edge they encounter a young women trying to cross the river. Being monks they aren't supposed to have any physical female contact, but one decides to help her across by carrying her on his back and dropping her off at the other side of the river.

Later that day the other monk who did not help the women asks "Why did you help her when we aren't supposed to have physical contact with a woman?"

The other monk replies "I put her down hours ago, why are you still carrying her?"

Basically saying "Why are you holding onto that baggage dude? "

Abide dudes, abide.
