I still feed myself manually.
I used to do this as a meditation also practiced mindfulness when tending my herb garden and while cooking...sadly it's all gone by the wayside over the last year.
You definitely feel more at one with everything when you slow down and notice exactly what you are doing...very Zen indeed.

new (or old depending on your point of view) research indicates that if you starve yourself every couple of days you will life a long and healthy life. not sure if this works by alternating total benders and total abstinance but heyhoo ..

It's just teaching people the basics of being aware.In my line of work,I find people are unconscious all of the time. Not comatose,just completely lacking in awareness.
Now that's fucking interesting man...
I have heard of stuff like this before, but never seen a write up on it.
I try to enjoy my food, whiskey and Caucasians in this way, it's easier though when my 2 little dudes are abiding during dinner.
Sound like me with a nice scotch in my hands. I'm not sure I can see doing it on a daily basis, but maybe something to incorporate for some of the special meals I spend more time preparing.
