Are you a Dudeist priest or priestess? Dudeist minister? Guru? Deacon? Preacher?
I am ordained but not sure what the parlance of our times is. Being strongly vaginal (and recovering Catholic) priest doesn't work for me...but I'm still working through this. I'd just like to hear your title & why it works for you -- thanks in advance for your guidance!
I prefer Monk, but being a dick I also dig Priest. ;D
I do list myself as "Rev" occasionally. The only thing I do is have the Dudeist patches on my waistcoat.
I am not yet ordained, but I am somewhat vaginal. I think if I were a lady I would like priestess. Unlike priest, priestess conjures up cool images for me. "Dudeist Chick" is pretty groovy, too!
dude 8)
It's dude for me...but I sometimes self apply Reverend. Padre fits too!
Hey welcome to the boards TulsaDudeistChick dude.
Peace Reverends. :) :)
I am referred to as "strumpet" a lot. Does that count? ;D
My mostest favouritist dude on TV comedy for me was Reverend Jim on Taxi. Remember "Okee doke"? Anyways, my first name is Jim, so take a guess... But it's all in jest.

Mine Too! Loved the Rev Jim (Star Child) Ignatowski.
Favorite Episode: Everything but string beans.

Mostly "Toad" or "bastard".
This isn't much of an issue for me since my being a Dudeist rarely comes up in conversation. Seems undudely to bring it up IMHO. I consider myself a Dudeist Priest, but that's just because it's what they call it on the Ordination page on the website. Feels like that's the official title.
However, since I believe you have to call a "Priest" as "Father" when addressing them, I'd want to be called something different, Father sounds weird. I think "Reverend" sounds cool, but I'm leaning toward "Master" since I'm a Star Wars geek and it's the nomenclature given to the Jedi. They've got robes, we've got robes, I'm seeing a connection here, Dudes.
Master Bob (Bobbywan Kenobby), Dudeist Priest. That's got a nice ring to it ;D All in favor of Dudeist Priests being addressed as "Master," raise your oat soda!

Peace
Dude works for me.
I'm not married to any one title.
Lately I've been fond of "Captain". Sort of in the Thurston Howell the 3'rd sense.

"Oh captain, my captain" ;-)
I go for dude as well. It's a handle anyone can ... handle, without overt religious overtones
Before I got ordained they used to call me Counselor. Long before I found Dudeism I was INFJ Counselor...and before I knew I was INFJ Counselor they called me Counselor at work. Not really sure why...just the way I am I guess.
D (nickname that stuck, (richard- dick- D)), is my prefered nomenclature, but man or dude I can abide.
You're the D Dude. Nice to meet you welcome to the boards....must have missed you somewhere down the line.
Peace man
Y'know, I've been pondering this myself ever since I got ordained. "Dude" would seem an obvious choice, but I think I'd have to earn that title before I would self apply it and I'm not sure I'm there yet (but I'm trying). So, in abidance with such notables as the aforementioned Reverend Jim and The Reverend Horton Heat...well, you can figure it out from there. ;)
'priest' feels pretentious and 'dude' feels not quite self-explaining enough so when i am asked i stick with 'ordained dudeist minister' for i DO minister dudeist energy all day long, and it ain't even exhausting. there is nothing even to say about it, i just smile a lot and go about my business and try not to fuck with anyone.
When I'm talking about Dudeism, I say that I am a Dudeist priest. I like the sound of it. When friends refer to me, if it's not just "Grizzle" it's usually "Reverend Grizzle" or "the Reverend".
So I guess you could say that if indirectly, I prefer Dudeist priest, and if directly, then Reverend.
Priest is fine, but cleric gets to the nub of the matter. I guess it's a tossup between new D&D or oldschool ;)
Although I'd prefer to just suffer "Ed" as my handle :P
Kenny.
Or Ozzy.
Both are fine.
Well the implied unofficial official title seems to priest on the ordination page and "officially" I'd call myself a Priest of The Church of the Latter Day Dude I guess ... but I'm toying with Bishop too.
Quotebut I'm toying with Bishop too
But then you're toying with Christian Heirarchy....or mayhap elevating your position....but hey..your roll dude.
Peace.
It's just that if I use priest then the traditional salutation is "Father" and that doesn't work for me ... BUT the traditional salutation to a bishop is "your holiness" or "your eminence" ... and I really dig "your eminence" ... so there's a big plus there for me ;D
In addition the way I get that Dudeism rolls kinda makes it just fine to elevate ... hey, there's a whole lot of getting higher going on in Dudeism overall ... so it's like I'm in good company ... in my mind.
Also, one of my favorite oat sodas is "Bishop's Finger" ... and those fine buxom special ladies who poor them in the ads ...
PS - I'm so over the whole Christian thing myself ... I've been gnostic for so long I've gone agnostic ... besides I was thinking more Chess than Christian myself, you know standing along side the Queen as her escort and all that ...

Sir, I salute you greatly! A fine Kentish ale, and my father's holy tipple, none-the-less! I bow to a man of such fine taste :D
i just realized that what i actually DO say is ...
" i am, in fact, an 'ordained dude'."
this is usually brought up when i fall into 'dude' conversations when someone comments on my walter dashboard figure, or my dogs name( lebowski) or my 'the dude abides' car license plate frame.
then i send them to the website, if i sense potential dudliness,( which i usually do).
I only use Rev in emails at work and occasional correspondence with my one son-in-law. It's an old joke but now official.
My favorite title is Grandpa. I have 5 grandkids who are subtly being exposed to Dudeism and I see a bright and laid back future for them.
BTW, would Duddha be pretentious. I need to have a Caucasian to limber my mind and ponder that.
When I saw the light and stepped onto the one true path I went the whole hog and changed my name.
By channelled inspiration from a higher power I was re-born Boston Rockbury.
My friendes still call me 'Wanker'.
Well, to the church it's Rev, but unofficially you can call me whatever you like.

Welcome,Tulsa Dudeist Chick! Glad to see you onboard! I prefer the title Reverend, and consider myself both a reverend and a priest. I think Priestess sounds kinda hot for a special lady friend tho....But that's like, my opinion, man....
Priestess as mentioned in this song several times....gotta admit that sounds hot!

Peace dude.
Publicly? I like to be called sir or mr.
With dudes? anything goes man.
I'd settle for "dude," I don't fit well into formal titles.
I've tended to lean towards Padre. Though I made an attempt ask to be called "Your Dudeliness" in "official" church business but so far that one hasn't seemed to catch on
Well, my sirname is actually Pater, so Pater it is.

Hey kilteddude, welcome to our beach community and public rug, dude! Bar's over there.
Thanks for the welcome and think I'll have to partake at the bar
Rev? Guru? Deacon? That sounds like a bunch of pretentious gobbledygook. I elevate towards Bob or Dude.
My background includes a lot of Buddhism, so I have been toying with Dudeist Monk. I tend to be very monk-like in my daily life, and for a while when younger, I seriously considered taking the vows and becoming a Buddhist Monk. So in that repect, it sort of fits. I'm still unsure about it though.
I also wondered about that when I decided to be ordained... On the website "Dudeist Priest" is used a lot. but if memory serves, on the final page when you get your certificate with your name, there is a passage that encourages us to call ourselves by any of the usual or classic titles- Reverend, Rabbi, Minister, etc.
i think 'Rev.' is grooviest for two reasons-
it lends a tone of reverence
and it's easily recognized by almost anyone as a legitimate title for a spiritual leader
and it just looks official next to your name-
Rev. TulsaDudeistChick
see what i mean?
ok, that was three reasons, but you get my drift.
Huh, I signed up on here to ask this same question, man.
I lean toward Dudeist Priest for the position, and Dude for the person. As in "That's Dude Samuel, he's a Dudeist Priest."
I formally go by Reverend Kellyn but I also like to playfully use Duder Kellyn as well. Like a Dudeist Father, Duder. That's what you call me! :)

Welcome the divine madness of dudetopia, Kapu_Koa dude. Good to have you here, take a jump on the trampoline and have an oat soda!
"Reverend Jim" has a ring to it...
Okee doke!
I prefer the title of "Strumpet." ;D ...and I'm not even ordained.
You can call me reverend, el reveorino, or rev if you're into the whole brevity thing. (sorry if I stole this from anyone else... Too lazy to check the other pages.)
ARCHDEACON IN DUDELINESS THE HONORABLE REVEREND BRIAN M MCDONALD. That's what you call me...

Hey galleta loco dude, welcome to our beach community. Bars over there, dude, make yourself a Kahuna, mang!
Call me what you like, just not "in late for dinner." I think the title can change with the circumstance. For something important like a wedding or funeral, Reverand or the like is good for others as it signifies a role for the service in question. Outside of the that, I'll roll with Joel. I get confused easily, so I like simplicity. Keep it easy Dudes!
Even my wife calls me dude...I just roll with that
I abide therefore I am a dude.I encourage others to take it easy but I don't seek recognition.I just get satisfaction from helping others to become less uptight.Women tend to have trouble remembering my name so I just say call me anything as long as it is not late for breakfast.I'll leave the titles for others to apply.
Even though I always perform any weddings I do for free, a recent couple felt in necessary to give me a gift. They had a beer mug engraved with the Dudeism symbol and proactively gave me the title "Vicar". So..I guess Vicar, because it's in glass and all. Seems like as good a reason as any.
Reverend. It showed up on the Compeers page one day for the Monastery of Nothingness. Who am I to debate signs from heaven?
I'm also okay with Dude-Jitsu Master... I am a black belt/instructor (sensei) in the Arts of Jiu Jitsu - so it kinda fits.
"When you're left-handed, it isn't all that hard to admit that you're not right."
I was already a chaplain with another order so I just use Chaplain or Reverend. Saves time.
many people (mostly at work) have called me yourgaelness for years, but i think i'm going to try for high priestess

Would that make abiding folks in your circles a Jitduda then?
I like the sound of Reverend though. I might fill that out in the next census?
Reverend
The Venerable
His Dudeness
El Duderino
That guy
Honestly? Don't matter in the long run. I've got a few people I know who I'm coaching in the ways of dudeness since I've found it. People like me who could benefit from the life style change in the same way I've been doing. But we don't get all hung up on the titles man.
I mean heck, if we really went by titles and looks I'd fall more into the Walter Category then Dude lol. But I mean if I was to self describe it to anyone who were asking, or like... have to put it on official stationary? Guess I'd have to buy a fancy desk for that though...
Reverend This Dude Abides of the Church of the Latter Day Dude
hmm sounds fancy that way

How's that mug suiting ya? And tell the happy couple thanks for their business, Vicar Dude. I give so many of the damned things away it is nice to make a sale from time to time.
Dead Thread, I know, but I'm surprised nobody uses "Brother." It's not nearly as sanctimonious as "Father," comes without the authoritarian vibe, and ties us dudes together.
"Brother Chris" is good enough for me.

"Brother Chris" is good enough for me.
In high school, we had a teacher, Mr H Davis, who insisted we call him Bro Dave. He was one of the most popular teachers. I didn't have his class but saw him every day.
So "Bro" makes sense.
Hey dudes. Since I'm studying Dothraki (maybe I'm not the only one here), I should try to find something.
There are no words for priest ou reverend in Dothraki, but there are for wizard or sorcerer, which would be the most acurate, litteraly. But sounds really undudistic, on its figurative way.
I think, if I'm the only dothrakophone here, The DothraDude, or Hav'Haf could work.
Havazhyol is a litteral translation of my name (Morgan, britanic name meaning born from the Sea), and haf is the adjective for calm. Yet, Hav'Haf sounds more like a cough than a name so....
If no one objects, I'm the DothraDude.
They call me the DudeFairy.
Stumblin', Rev. Stumblin' or Reverend Blind Papa Stumblin', if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
When filling out online forms that won't let you proceed without choosing a title, I use Rev.
In conversation I use minister or priest.
Hey You! also works.
