Anyone who claims "god is talking to me" deeply worries me. The list of assholes who have claimed such communication from "god" and then committed some of the world's greatest atrocities is all but inexhaustible.

That doesn't mean this person, in the YouTube video, is a crazy nut, but the concern is valid.

The idiots who slammed two jets into the Trade Towers, one into the Pentagon, and plowed the fourth one into the ground ALL believed "god" was talking to them.

It wasn't terrorists. Inside job dude... sorry man, but that is old news. Check out a movie called "In Plane Site." And another one called "Zeitgeist". It all ties back to the roots of capitalism some 200 years ago.

Maybe I'm nuts, but I'm not the only one.

It being an inside job is always possible given the nihilists running the world, but at this point I reserve judgement until I see more proof. And as always; all such possibilities are "food for thought and grounds for further research."

Glad we have this freedom here to worship any religion in the U.S.A. That's her roll it's all good. I found nothing offensive nor insensitive to hurt me directly or indirectly. The Dude Abides. Peace.

You do indeed have that right.
And you have the right to cover yourself with peanut butter and stand on your lawn yelling "Harry Potter is witchcraft!" at the top of your lungs.

But I do like these people:

"We know "Yaweh/Jehova" of the bible to be a fictitious entity, and the people behind coercing this lie, to be the true deceivers of humanity and the masters of lies. This is evident in the many contradictions within the Judeo/Christian Bible, revealing this text to be the work of human beings who had occult knowledge and infused it with power to make it credible, and to incite fear in order to control."

Well see now this is the point.
These people self apply the term "Dominionist". In a nutshell they believe that their role is to take control of all aspects of society and transform it to exclusively Christian to make way for the end times.
To say that they have the right is rather beside the point.
My point is I'd rather they don't get someone in there with the nuclear launch codes.
I really am missing the point you are making by saying they have the right.
People have the right to many things that are down right nuts. Criticizing them has nothing to do with these rights. I mean if that was the case then the very existence of free speech would negate all possibility of criticism. Yes people have the right to be lunatics. So what does that have to do with anything?
The fact that we have presidential candidates appearing on stage with people who believe they hear the voice of god is sort of important IMHO.

Quote
In the context of American evangelical efforts to penetrate and transform public life, the distinguishing mark of a dominionist is a commitment to defining and carrying out an approach to building society that is self-consciously defined as exclusively Christian, and dependent specifically on the work of Christians, rather than based on a broader consensus.

The movement currently works with a variety of politicians and has a presence in all 50 states. It also has very strong opinions about the direction it wants the country to take. For the past several years, the NAR has run a campaign to reclaim what it calls the "seven mountains of culture" from demonic influence. The "mountains" are arts and entertainment; business; family; government; media; religion; and education.

"They teach quite literally that these 'mountains' have fallen under the control of demonic influences in society, And therefore, they must reclaim them for God in order to bring about the kingdom of God on Earth. ... The apostles teach what's called 'strategic level spiritual warfare' [because they believe that the] reason why there is sin and corruption and poverty on the Earth is because the Earth is controlled by a hierarchy of demons under the authority of Satan. So they teach not just evangelizing souls one by one, as we're accustomed to hearing about. They teach that they will go into a geographic region or a people group and conduct spiritual-warfare activities in order to remove the demons from the entire population. This is what they're doing that's quite fundamentally different than other evangelical groups."

I mean this thinking is quite literally as backward as the people who burned witches.
How can we possibly be talking about this sort of thing in this day and age?
It's absolutely jaw dropping and the reality is that most people are completely unaware of the influence that this sort of lunacy has had.

Right on BD. Decades ago I had direct experience with evangelicals... some are cool, some aren't, and some are truly wackos. It's them that are motivated to make changes to society, and they're pervasive. And subversive, with hidden agendas. By the very nature of being evangelical, they have a culture that perpetuates their belief of eventual domination. Very undude.

It may be hypocriphal but I did hear that they changed the process dramatically when Ronald Reagan came into office (for instance removing the actual button from the oval office just in case he pressed it by mistake trying to order tea). But I could be wrong.

You have to wonder how many times you can predict the end of the world before people begin to get the idea that you can't really predict the end of the world.

Well I'd be willing to predict that if people who believe it is their duty to make ready for the inevitable end of the world and who's stated aim is to take over society to bring that about actually do see that through, that it will happen. It has nothing to do with mumbo jumbo revelation or anything else.
When a person is led down a path of beliefs that those who don't share their beliefs are "demons" then it's not a very long leap. The simple reality is that these people don't predict the end of the world, they long for it and devote every day to what they believe is their duty which is bringing it about. This is clearly their stated aim and belief.
Self applied.

A good point.

I have seen a couple of documentaries where individuals have claimed the end of the world is going to happen then it hasn't and quite amazingly the followers don't seem to process the fact they got it wrong.

As you say they are self delusional and you can't argue with such people because they have an answer for every point you try to bring up. Mostly as you say "You are Satans pawn therefore I cant hear you!"

This is offensive to individuals who follow the Pagan path. Do not spew your ignorant, misinformed, christian dogmatised bile here.

I am a practicing Pagan and will complain to the administrators if you keep this sort of thing up.

Oh wait I am an administrator.

Please, please try to get it into your thick skull this is not one of your christian forums (this is not Prayer Requests at www.wilmingtonhop.com), this is a wide group of people with varied beliefs, and comments like this are offensive.

Witchcraft, or more correctly wiccan is a bona fide religion in it's own right (though nothing to do with Buffy or Potter).

Stop quoting the bible at us we are not interested. This is not a christian forum, this is not a christian group.

If I want to have a biblical reference i will go to my own copy of the bible, but be assured I hardly open the thing unless I fancy a good laugh.

I am sorry but this is over the line.

I would be happy if I believed for half a second that they would all happily sit around waiting for God to end the world. As a non-believer I would feel safe. But when people take up a stated aim at readying the world for the coming of a human being who they will claim is some pseudo god, second coming to do the actual deed I am pretty concerned. Especially when those same people are claiming to actually be taking their own marching orders from God literally. If they contend that God is speaking to them then it's just a matter of time till they tell us that God said ... fill in the blanks.

But as far as I'm concerned whether there is a heaven or hell, be right or be wrong.

~thinkingdude

Yeah and most of them are religious fanatics not "witches".
Harry Potter was one of the most popular series of movies ever (which I personally think sucked) and it was watched by millions of people who almost universally had zero difficulty realizing it is FICTION.
But the only people that I have ever seen treating it literally are crazy fanatic religious zealots.
I mean here is a national TV show that clearly is stupid enough to actually believe that Harry Potter has a real tangible evil.

That's incredibly insulting! And well over the fucking line man.

I am a witch and I take my craft very seriously and very literally. I'm not talking HP here I'm talking ancient Wiccan rites and rituals...ancient pagan festivals that were adopted and changed by the Christian church.

Allow me to mention just two. Ostara and Maybon. What you would call Easter and Harvest Festival. Both STOLEN and bastardised by the Christian church. I was going to give you links and references but I can't actually be arsed to discuss this further with you as you are clearly so brainwashed by your dogma....do you think Easter and the resurrection actually is about a dead man coming alive again like a zombie...or is it really about the rebirth of the earth after the winter months?

You need to start educating yourself in the ways of the world...get off the internet son and start looking around you. Get out into nature and actually feel what is going on out there.

I remember you once mentioned respect in a post. Well as you said respect is earned and you have done nothing at all to earn mine. You are a child who has wandered into a movie and doesn't have a fucking clue as to what is going on.

Actually I believe christmas would have still occured on the 21st (winter solstice) if it wasn't for the fact that the calendar changed from the Julian to the Gregorian and added four days to allow for the slip in the fact Julius Caesar only allowed 365 days in his re-working of the calendar to add July (for himself) and August (for Augustus Caesar), and missed the 0.25 bit extra it takes for the earth to revolve around the sun.

The Egg was a Druid symbol for the Ark (druids where an arkite religion), the story of the flood occurred in a few other religions before the jews.

I deliberately didn't mention Christmas because of those facts....most major Christian festivals take place around the Solstices and equinoxes....coincidence? I think not. Raped and pillaged by the Church in order to amalgamate the societies of the time. They didn't want to alient the people they were trying to convert so allowed those folks their festivals but changed them to accomodate the Christ figure....you know all this Meekon...it's just the child that needs educating.

Actually the flood myth is documented in many ancient societies...going right back to the Sumerians.

Graham Hancock expounds this in Fingerprints of the Gods. A jolly good read and definitely food for thought!

Peace my like minded friend.

I'm having a difficult time reading the rest of this topic.
My children are levitating the toys around the room having mastered the art from Harry Potter.
And if you don't believe that is possible then you will burn in hell for all eternity non-believers.

Yeah man what he said. ;D
I listened to a pro gramme on radio 4 a few weeks ago about the increasing cases of exorcisms in the UK and one of the shows contributors gave a list of the types of people highly likely to require an exorcism at some point
those who have taken up Buddhism
those who practice yoga
those who wear black
I wish I could remember the whole list as you would then see that they thought just anything that wasn't of a Christian nature was evil, sounds like a past regime or two with a bit of cleansing, but the last one about wearing black, I'm expecting the legion of voices soon, is one to ponder as, don't catholic priests wear black?
going to see if it's still available on listen again.

I'm fucked then...wearing a black Nike T and some black joggies with a side order of black Kalvins and black socks....I'm also a bit of a Buddhist.... but never done the yoga thing so maybe a bit of clemency there?

This is not a sex advert by the way.... although I admit it does read a bit like that! :)

Oh hell yeah! She's smoking hot.
And wouldn't it be great to corrupt her?
I mean it. There is something strangely appealing to dirtying up a nice little religious girl like her.
In that light I can listen to every bit of her chirping when it's contrasted with what she sounds like in the sack. I started out in Catholic schools so perhaps that explains it.
