Title: Negative Energy Release
Post by: Rev. Ed C on August 29, 2011, 12:24:11 PM
There's a lot of negative energy going around here at the moment, and I think Rev. AF should lead us in some breathing exercises to help expell it back out into the universe before we damn it up in our quiet little forum community.

No pressure, AF, until you get here, I think everyone should have a read or reread of this:

One of my old favourites :D

First.... I must clean my belly button out!  :-X

I guess the 31 people that read this all took part in the exercises and let the negative energy flow for the rest of us.

Peace, clam and chill reigns once more on the boards :)

Faith, hop and charity, and the greatest of these is hop.

Typos and misprints will get you anyway in this crazy world :P

Nothing like a quote from the most holy text, Red Dwarf  (http://www.reddwarf.co.uk/news/index.cfm)to liven things up!

(Rimmers parents were 7th Day Advent Hoppists)

Quote from: RedDwarf

RIMMER:

Everyone's entitled to their beliefs, Lister. I never agreed with my parent's religion, but I wouldn't dream of knocking it.

LISTER:

What were they?

RIMMER:

Seventh day advent hoppists. They believed that every Sunday should be spent hopping. They would hop to church, hop through the service, then hop back home again.

LISTER:

What was the idea behind that, then?

RIMMER:

Well you see, they took the Bible literally. Adam and Eve; the snake and the apple... Took it word for word. Unfortunately, their version had a misprint. It was all based on 1 Corinthians 13, where it says "Faith, hop and charity, and the greatest of these is hop." So that's what they did. Every seventh day. I tell you, Sunday lunchtimes were a nightmare. Hopping round the table, serving soup --

we all had to wear sou'westers and asbestos underpants.

:D

Yeah, sorry, I forgot to put it in context.

The last person I talked to about Red Dwarf was Mother Duderior, who, like me, owns every copy of the Smegazine!   ::)  *saddo alert!!!*

I forget that there are people out there who have never seen it ??? Blows my mind!

I haven't, probably here Red Dwarf has never arrived.

thanks for the mention and appreciation mang. I agree with you with the negative energy thing, so let's close our eyes for a moment and take some deep breaths moving our stomach loosely up and down (belly breathing), then take ten breaths (counting from 10 to1) imagining that with every breath in you inspire calm and relaxation and with every breath out you expire tensions. Do it for a while and all tensions and stresspasses fade away. After this take five more breaths (counting from 1 to5) and open your eyes refreshed and relaxed. Repeat as needed.  Not while driving of course. 8)

I forgot to say that another great way to release negative or excessive energies is to have zesty enterprises. And if someone prefer manual work that's fine too.

But again, not while driving.  8)

Actually, I managed to replace some of manual work with thoughts alone. Provided you are not feeling guilty about it, thoughts can make you high.
So I just try to get into that 'naked and happy' mood promoted by William Blake, Gerard Depardieu, Iggy Pop - and Jeff Bridges too.

In case you wonder about Depardieu - the French (!) version of his book 'Innocent' has a very interesting cover, and it's 2015.

And generally - the thought 'it's not my business, I cannot do anything about it, someone else fucked it in the days when the dinosaurs roamed the Earth'. Which requires careful consideration: what can be changed by you and what cannot. Some things just cannot be changed by you, as you have no resources.

Which brings here another useful thing, namely Edward de Bono's 'Six Thinking Hats'. This technique teaches you to separate facts from emotions and look at each of them. As far as I know, even Dalai Lama tried it successfully when talking to Western scientists (in his case the hats were replaced with 'Western clothes' and 'a Buddhist monk robe').
