Title: whats your mantra dude?
Post by: Leopoldrose on August 02, 2011, 09:52:28 PM
Any of you dudes have a mantra to keep your mind limber? Mine is just : the dude ( breath in) abides (breath out).

Yesterday when the little one was crying at jet-fighter volume, my mantra was "It's my fault. It's my fault. It's my fault." Worked pretty well!

What ever fits into that time and place, "fuck it" when things go un-dudely, and "far out" when they are groovy, or what ever pops into my pot addled mind at the time. Trick is to turn "fuck it" into "far out". Like with me wanting to go to LF in NY and not being able to. I start with, fuck it man, then go to, well all sorts of other Dudes are going to have a great time there, far out Dude.

We are only ever miserable when we think of our selves and not getting what we want, but when we think of others we can break that spell, and be happy, in being happy for them, that's how we can abide in disappointment.

1. The future will soon be a thing of the past.

2. The planet is fine. The people are fucked.

3. "Meow" means "woof" in cat.

4. So far, this is the oldest I've been.

5. I think I am, therefore, I am. I think.

6. If the cops didn't see it, I didn't do it!

Different things I say throughout the day to keep me calm.

1. Fuck it, dude.
2. Nothing is fucked, here, man.
3. Chill. You're being very un-Dude.

Seems to work great for me, especially at work.

awesome dudes! I looked up "abide" in the dictionary the other day, and saw the best definition yet. "To Live". Fuck yeah right!? To abide is just "to be".

Where I come from, we'll often self-apply the quote "Take'r easy dude".  I'm not fond of all those cuss words, but hey - sometimes ya gotta just say "Fuck it" and walk away from the stress.  When that doesn't work, well, I'll just watch TBL after my ol' lady hits the hay. Works every time.

"Not a problem"

A nice bit of positive thinking and holds a good vibe.

Using it is like a reflex to me :)

Take it easy man.....self applied and non gender specific.

Dude!

I prosper at every turn....whenever I find a penny or higher denomination.

This too will pass.

All the above work for me...

Peace dudes.

In echo of Dennis Weaver in McCloud, I have long involuntarily blurted, "There yuh go!" and/or "There yuh are!"

That McCloud, what a dude!

If I feel myself getting worked up about something, I simply tell myself "Stop, stop. Relax." The beauty is its simplicity. Occam was on to something with his razor.

I've also been saying "fuck it" more and more lately. It really can be quite a powerful statement.

Another one I have is "Big blue ice cube"

I think of a big blue ice cube above my head slowly melting and calming me down.
