Title: Open-Sourced Blueprints for Civilization (video)
Post by: cakebelly on April 23, 2011, 03:36:58 PM
"Using wikis and digital fabrication tools, TED Fellow Marcin Jakubowski is open-sourcing the blueprints for 50 farm machines, allowing anyone to build their own tractor or harvester from scratch. And that?s only the first step in a project to write an instruction set for an entire self-sustaining village (starting cost: $10,000)."

That is cool.

Some times I get so bummed out with all the paraquats and pornographers running the show, but then some Dude like CB brings some new shit to light, about some other Dudes doing cool Dudely stuff.

Thanx mang, shit like this helps center a Dude on his Rug.

That's a cool link bro.

Love it, mang! The dude's open source concept should be commended as being strongly dude like. Far fucking out.

** DB Footnote: The US began more or less like this. Self reliance and the community of sharing ideas. Then the greedy robber baron undude human paraquats began taking over and suckering people into buying and relying on their control of everything. That's why today people are paying through the nose for electricity instead of generating it themselves at home or their businesses. That is why today we are a nation of everyone in perpetual debt to these nazi assholes. Nothing ever changes.

That's a fantastic idea!  Something I could really get behind.  It's high-time the fatcats stopped hogging all the patents and creaming off all the fat for themselves.  Free the knowledge!

Nice find, Cakey :)

That's the source man.
Imagine supplant the current status quo.
A membership economy sort of thing. People intent on creating a new society within the current society
without the influence of big corporations, banks and wall street.
Imagine a scattered collective of cooperative businesses working together. The amish without the religious mumbo jumbo and weird hair.

The big lessons lately have been that democracy with an economy that is controlled and manipulated by
a very finite segment of society is a farce. The illusion of freedom at best.
