I noticed this today- A company is having a movie memorabilia auction with some pretty cool stuff, and one of the items is The Dudes sweater.

LOL. Uncanny likeness, then again. Christians are always waiting for the second coming. But it happened already, they just missed it. The Dude!! The book of Revelations was just an acid flashback man.
My favourite holy relic is St John the Baptist's Skull as a Boy (http://www.archive.catholicherald.co.uk/reviews/r0000365.shtml).
Here I am not only poking fun at our medieval forefathers but also making a point about how silly relic adoration can get.
"I have a piece of the one true sweater! Not all you fools with the fakes."
"No you are the fool because I have the Roach of the one true joint."
"He has given us a shoe! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ka9mfZbTFbk&feature=related)"
"Cast off the shoes and follow the gourd!"
I'm surprised no one has made a Turin/Dude shroud. It seems like some graphic arts major in college would have done it just for fun.

See now theres an idea for a web site.
Turin Shroud yourself!
Just a little programming to allow upload of a picture which is then adjusted to provide your shroud picture.

shroud_2 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/meekon5/5558495215/) by meekon5 (http://www.flickr.com/people/meekon5/), on Flickr
As I said on flickr I am finally going to hell for this one..
No, no, no. The shoe is a sign that we must gather shoes together in abundance.
see his sole comes shining through! the shoe will tell us what to do!
Mysterious "Shroud of The Dude" unearthed. Can it be authentic? ;D

I say that since the Dude didn't die--he's still abiding--that he has a rug, not a shroud, and he's on it, rather than under it:

Or, he's meditating over it:
Or otherwise contemplating it:

An image of him that's not him, but a sign that he was there, would perhaps be this:

And the closest he came to death and resurrection was when...

Dude, that second picture you posted, the painting close up of his face, I own that. The artist is on Etsy. Got it hanging up in my office.

Cool! I knew I probably should have given credit underneath but figured I'd post the artist's name if anyone asked. So, did you commission it, or does the artist do a lot of Dude art, or ?

Here's his site: http://dougbloodworth.com/
Not commissioned, I think he was just a fan. I couldn't afford the original, but he did a smaller print then signed/numbered it for me. He's got this one of the dude, and and one of Walter. He does a lot of pop culture and travel style art from what I've noticed. He's got one called "roadtrip" that I really like too, and have considered getting.

I don't see the Walter one on his site or in google results. Maybe he hasn't posted it to the web yet?
