As soon as we have some detail we'll set it here.
(Details to follow here, hopefully Ed can put down some detail as this one is on his turf).
Transfer thread from
here (http://dudeism.com/smf/index.php?topic=2016.0).
All comers welcome.
Attending so far:
Rev Ed C
Rev Klaus
Rev Meekon5
An evening option from Rev kiteboysi
Unfortunately Rev Zen Dog is unable to do the 12th. (Perhaps if we try for a six month meet up?)
Well, as long as 12th in the afternoon/evening is good for all involved, I can get us a good spot in a good pub. Details to follow in the next few days, pending any more changes.
If no one has objected in the next 36 hours, I'll sort out the location/direction and issue my mobile number to anyone who's not already got it.
Sorry mate didn't mean to dump this on you.
We can do maps and stuff as and when needed.
Hey M5, is there a Meetup page for this event?
Dudes am up for a meet up ,faraham is cool for not far to travel from havant.

Not yet but we re so badly organised that it would probably expire the group before we'd done one meeting.

It's an open meeting held in a public place (no weapons please).
Seriously three of us managed the last one, so the more the merrier.

It's cool, it's just that I was only double 12-hour nights this weekend, and I've only just woken up after my modest 6-hour sleep for the day (hence the 36 hours).
Now I'm sort of awake and almost back on a daylight pattern, I can set to do some better planning in the next week. Well, I say better, I think this is as good as it gets for us :)
The pub of choice is 5 minutes walk from the station, and 17 minutes hard crawl (15 with friendly, helpful kicking). We stay away from the town centre the the normies will not bother us. We are doors away from a nice quiet little Chinese restaurant that requires no booking.
Maps are available, but I'm willing to meet people from the station. Apparently last year we managed to spot each other from across a crowded bowling alley with zero effort despite not knowing what the other looked like. I might have been the fact that we were the only three with beards!

So everyone bring a beard then?
BTW is this going to be an afternoon/evening do?
Actually if you don't mind I can only do the early evening.
If the rest of you want to meet up earlier and I'll join you somewhere on the way.
would be there if I could, Dudes.
After 1700 seems to suit all your late-comers then. Anyone wanting to make it earlier can call me as needed or just let me know when you're on the train and give me an ETA. I'm only 10-15 mins walk from the station in my onw humble hovel.
I'm afraid I'm having lunch with my Dad, who I haven't seen in ages so unfortunately that takes precedence.
1700hrs is good for me.
So do we meet at the station and go on from there?
If everyone lets me know when they're arriving, I'll be at the station to shepherd them on the pub. I assume you and Klaus are arriving together at around 1700, and then Kiteboysi I'll go back for a little while after I guess.
Which reminds me... Kitboysi, I'm sending you my mobile number in a private forum mail so you can let me know :)
oh bother, I can't be there this time.
Ed can we publish a pub we are going to be in just in case anyone want's to turn up and lurk.
Or any of the lurkers want to turn up!
To all you lurkers (and general malingerers):
http://uk.local.yahoo.com/Hampshire/Fareham/clinkers_tavern/1002067957-e-19909.html
This gives you the location of the Clinkers Tavern, a good and Dudely haunt. If we're not in there, check the window Dragon, the Chinese next door, and if all else fails, we've gone up the road to the big pub called The Fareham (which you can see from the front of the Clinkers).
If you're coming by car, when you get to Trinity Street you'll pass between the Clinkers and the big white building across from it, and there's a carpark just beyond, next to the Fareham, opposite Dragon.
Good luck, and Dude... err... not speed, more like... weed?
Klaus and I were planning to ring you from the station and whinge until you came and found us anyway.
;D
It just occurred to me that there are on average about ten to thirteen other people logged onto the site when I am, so if thats an average some of them may want to turn up and actually talk to us fce to face. Or on the other hand some may want to know which pub in Fareham to avoid completly.

Too true! Once you've all arrived, I'll be avoiding the place like the plague. You think I'd tell YOU where the real venue was??
When i get to fareham i will give you a ring to find out if you are still in the pub, and so that i know who is who in the pub!! i will be the one with long hair and a beard!!!!!!

Err.. that doesn't narrow it down. Thankfully, Klaus has not got long hair anymore, and meekon has opted down a different path. But, alas, beards are not in short supply. Just look for the three guys with the longer than usual beards.
If you see a convention of druids in one corner... we're probably behind them :)~
At least i won't stand out like i normally do!!!!! ;D
should be with you guys by about 6.30 ish.

We will be wearing our Dudeist patches so that should help.

I did enjoy that last year, especially Klaus' large dudevinci badge, displayed prominently in the middle of his beanie hat!

Good to see you as well kiteboysi.
Working on the next one in a couple of months.
Ed sorry I seemed to call it ended at what seemed a bit early.
I can't explain how much I hate karaoke and with that bloke setting up just next to us I was getting a bit stressed not being able to hear properly (I'm not against loud music, just not when I've come out to talk with some friends).
I just got a bit pissed off at the way that bloke set his speakers up right next to us and then had the audacity to say to Ed "Mind the speakers". Stupid twat if he hadn't put them there they wouldn't have been a problem.
Next one we'll organise some where to eat as well. Make a bit more of a day of it.
It's no problem guys, we could have moved on, I guess, but I'm not one for protracting things into a "pub crawl" myself. Went home and made food, so, big win! And yeah, his brand of music wasn't so... err... abiding. I did think the pub would suffer from being a little more trendy on a weekend, it's usually a little more weirdy and alternative. Next time we meet in Fareham we'll go up the road to The Fareham, and see how that copes with our aura of "bearditude"
Yeah, another success, only more so, I think. Thanks to our new man (and future commiserations to his facial marmot), Rev Kiteboysi (and now I can see where you derive that name from!).
Maybe next time we meet up, Meekon and Klaus won't still be hungover from the night before. Two years in a row, well done :)
Also, it seems to be my round again next time!
Well dudes. This seemed the appropriate place to post something but it seems to be gathering a little dust.If any one is still with us and can get to Wokingham on a wednesday afternoon for 14:00. I have organised a bowling league at work.We play at the Big Apple, 7 minutes walk from the station.Just ask someone where the swimming pool is.It's next to that.We play every 3rd wednesday (datum 12sep2012) to coincide with our rest day pattern. Although it started as a work thing, friends and rellies come as well so it's cool.Afterwards there is usually a bomb burst as people have things to do but several of us normally go for cocktails.Which is nice.We don't always stay out late, people peel away as required.I even made the last train home once.
