"People that have been to see last year's blockbuster The Social Network, could be forgiven for thinking that the rise of sites like Facebook started just a few years ago.
But to find the true origins of social networking you have to go further back than 2004."

Brandt dude, it sounds like a situation of spilling an oat soda in your keyboard (been there, done that, by the way), or maybe a PC version of a flash back?

You may have some of the windows disabled features turned on, which would cause this.
Sorry that's Accessibility Options (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/accessibility/default.mspx).
Probably under the keyboard options (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/accessibility/default.mspx#EFF).
Or it could be as DB suggests, the addition of alcohol (or many other common household liquids) to the keyboard tends to fuck them up seriously. Speaking from my own vast experience.
DB and M5, thanks for thhee practical and techno advise. Although I'm careful nnot to sspill a beverage here, man, the second thought of PC flashback holds more water. Will try the M5 solution posthaste even if I must work throuugh shommer shhabbas. This is an eemergency! Very tiresomme going back to correctt. Fuck it man, life goes onn. :-\ :D ;D ???

Hmmm, good question, cake dude. I think some dudes are classic "hippies," but then again, what's a hippy? But to me, dudeism is universal. Hell, I know a dude who is a stanch conservative baptist. Fucking eh, dudes come in all shapes and sizes. Baptist...at least it's an ethos.

That's a bummer, man. If it was a desktop PC I was going to state the obvious and suggest that you shit can the keyboard and get another one. But alas, a laptop is a difference story.

I hate those bloody mouse pad things in the middle of net/note books, I have so many problems using them, so the mouse is always necessary, and the netbook keyboard always gives me cramp. I can use the thing without the usb extensions (4 x usb hub and extension cable) for short times but i get very tetchy after a while.

Cool 100% electronic setup you got there, M5.
