Yeah, I think you're right dude. Dudeism and Zen Dudeism are pretty much the same thing!
You know, driving around, bowling and the occasional flashbacks.
Pretty much the same but with less likelihood to develop hemorrhoids ;D
Sometimes I think we are the pothead version of Zen. Like I totally dig the philosophy of Zen, but I find it's practice a bit exhausting, it feels as though it's trying just a little too hard to not try.

Hey, I know what you mean!
I find most religions; even Buddhism and Zen Buddhism much like machines which are designed to churn out more of themselves. But once you become part of the machine you lose you perspective. From the inside you do not know you are just part of the machine.
Also, dudes, let's not forget, let's not forget that there are quite a few Zen-stories of guys who became enlightened the moment they stopped trying to become enlightened.
And of those who spend years sitting and meditating and not getting very far.
Faithfully
Brother Erwin

Ahhhh...Stoned!
Yeah, dude, that's the ticket.
I bowl when I bowl,
I drink Caucasians when I drink Caucasians,
I drive when I drive,
that is Zen.
Hi DB,
great picture!
where is it from? I mean the one with the Buddha-like sitting Dude and Walter. It's not in the movie, is it? Have I missed out a director's cut or something?

That is from a scene in the movie that was cut. The dude and Walter are waiting outside to see the undertaker taking care of Donny's ashes (the coffee can scene) as I recall the description stated. Was never used in the movie, but I think it was used in one trailer. Have to check that out though.
Yeah, it looked pretty zen like, brother_erwin. ;D
Much obliged, DB, for this explanation.
It sure looks good!

Cat balancing, much like cat herding! A lot of effort with little reward.
i dont think i will ever achieve zen-dudeism in my line of work, too many dead line.
it is done when it is done does not go down well with the bosses! ;)
Cat juggling is also quite difficult as well.

I sometimes get on a theme and have to explore it to it's end.
All the cats in Thailand are Siamese. ;)
What does a Buddhist say at a hot dog cart in NYC?
Make me one with everything.

Fuck no! You don't tease former Nazis.
Sorry that was harsh, it's just that I'm from the US, and right now we have Santorum all over the place. That guy is not Zen.

See I can't see that name (Santorum) without thinking Sanitorium (or is that Bedlam?)

Bedlam.People used to pay to go in and be entertained by the patients. Now they televise it and call it Big Brother. And most people don't know what Big Brother really means either.Or who George Orwell was.He used to live in my street. Before my time of course.

I been putting this into practice; Often scattering my thoughts and tasks makes me uptight. Stop pick a task do it to finish or as close as possible (Provided events prevent) then move to next. This has surprisingly brought more calm aka dude. 8)
When you meditate on your rug, be sure you won't be disturbed
