Was wondering if anyone had any dude like comments of dudeness for the new year? A sort of jump up, grab the mic, and ah, you know what I'm saying, ah, express like your opinion man of the year 2010 and your vision for 2011.

Well, Didge Dude, I can't think of anything to say about 2010 that, you know, wouldn't send me and others on a downer . . will have to come back to it.

Hi Fellas,

actually, I do look back on this year with a little smile on my face. I had quite a few good experiences this year, and some of them in English, too. Went through some shit, too, yes yes, but on the whole... ok...more relaxing baths without marmots in the tub than in 2009, so to speak.

Forgive me,  but looking back on years as such does not make a whole lot of sense to me, and neither does developing visions, good intentions and what have yous for the next one. Just another darn thing we invented for whatever the reason to make life a bit more difficult, all this standard setting and asking yourself whether you fucking met them or not. That is - what appears to me - a little undude.

Like that Zen-phrase I picked up somewhere: You just got one birthday - today! So why bother about a whole year?

But - that's just my opinion. And I nonetheless dig the idea of this thread.

Anyway, it was this year 2010, that I re-discovered - or really discovered - or started to discover,  ??? aah look at me.... I'm musing again, where was I, yes I (r)-discovered TBL.
And, no kidding here, I take comfort in it. This movie simply makes me feel better. Recently I had the DVD running in the background while doing other things, and fucking A, all of a sudden I realized, I was walking around with a big constant smile on my face. Also, sometimes just glancing at the poster does do the trick.

Also, I discovered a few more dudy things this year, making life more pleasant. It's not bowling (not yet), but paddling in an open canoe, for instance. Actually, I think at first there was my readiness to dudefy my life a little (for good reason), and then I rediscovered TBL. As if I had prepared myself or opened up for the message, if you know what I mean.

So, if I have a good intention for 2011: Whenever I should get too uptight about anything, I hope there is a DVD-player not too far away and the disc with me.

So, in accordance with what I think might well be your wishes for 2011, I wish all the Dudes and Undudes in this forum and elsewhere (from Cuxhaven beach up to Pismo) a very happy 2011. May your wishes come true, and may their fulfillment bring you peace of mind.

Now, in the semis, and the finals!

Take 'er easy and take care on the trail! May the Dude be with you when you are down, and may he be with you when you are high - and may he be with you whatever the condition you are in may be.

Faithfully yours
Bruder Erwin

No problemo, man. Check back when you're ready with a good flashback.  ;D

2010 was full of ups and downs for me.  I lost my job, but I started school.  We lost one income, but gained one promotion.  My brother moved his family from here back to NY, but we healed some old wounds.  One of the best things about 2010 was finding Dudeism and becoming ordained.  It ended up making for the best Christmas/Birthday too.  Hubby got me the 10th Anniversary Edition of TBL, my ordination kit, tickets to Lebowski Fest (coming here for the first time ever) and took me bowling (first time he's ever been with me) and for Caucasians and burgers. It ended the year nicely and 2011 should start out pretty far out with Lebowski Fest in February.

::) Ah, a misunderstanding - I thought you wanted opinions of 2010 from a World perspective. Yeah, just like any year it's had its ups and downs - although, having said that, it has been quite a stable year (ups - not so high / downs: not so low). My girls got into soccer (when in Rome call it 'soccer') and I saw Abby (the less confident twin) score a goal.  ;D The Joes (collective noun for the girls) have made pretty good progress; started to shake off the emotional baggage laid on them by their birth mother (the girls are my wife's nieces: adopted). Told the meth-head nihilist not to come around anymore. We are getting by which is great - a lot of folk are having a hell of a time.

Lots of little moments that go to make up a good year. Finally got round to joining the forum, here - met some dudely electronic Dudes (had one of them in my house - fed him cake and beer: it's true, we are a bit gamey - how you doing, Lennon?  ;D). Yeah, it's been a good year; a smile is never far away from the girls' faces and, consequently, never far away from ours. You all have a Dudely 2011, folks 8)

How about you: Didge, M5, Rev Ed C, Rev. GMS, Forumdude (everydue) - how was your year?

Well, you know Strikes and Gutters, but you can't worry about that shit...life goes on and...well...we just abide as best we can.
Oh yeah, last season I did make it into the semis! Almost won too.
My arm is regaining some of its strength back and I?m throwing the ball better once again.
Hope to make it into the semis this season as well.

Which is my wish for all you dudes everywhere. Hope you make in into the semis!
And may you all abide with comfort and joy.

@CC - Man, they'd have to be some high rollers to beat you, Dude - I've only ever seen you roll rocks. You need to get your special lady friend to give that arm 'n' shoulder some deep, (maybe exotic . . oils, mood music) massage. Have a great season, see you at the semis, Dude
