Still anxious to get one. ;D
*bump* lol
Hmm, well the threads been read 108 times as of my writing. If no one has given any info out on this perhaps it was purely a wandering thought on the dudespaper or some such matter.
I have no clue about any dudeist ID cards, however, I think that would be very interesting. Not really fucking interesting, but interesting enough to partake in if offered appropriately.
I can't really imagine needing more than a patch on my wallet to indicate my dudeism loyality, or a moment where I would have to bring identification to light man. Although it might score points with the ladies or raise some eyebrows if you need a distraction on league night.
I personally don't really like keeping ID's on me at all, it makes me feel branded, ya know. More than I already am, which is bad enough. Ordained certification is already offered for 5 dollars on the store site anyway, there's a letter of good standing, which is really all you need in tandem with your free license.
I think the general vibe is, that you don't really need it and not enough people want it. But who knows, maybe they'll break out the lamination machine and whip one up if you ask real nice.
Well, Oliver was talking about getting it up and running around octoberish, that was a few months ago... So... No, I dont need it, but YES it would be cool for bragging rights :p
Any updates here?
I know Duder is rather busy right at the moment, but I still think this is a capital idea.
Sounds like it would make a great alternative to state-issued ID's for folks who have moral objections to them.
(Quakers...hint, hint!)
I like the idea..... I have the right to Dude.... you know like a legit liceness... yeah sets you apart from those who don't abide.....
I actually don't like the idea (pun intended) of id cards...for a couple of reasons:
I used to have to carry one at all times...difficult while swimming I assure you! We could be charged for failing to have it with you etc. So a bit of a hangover for me I admit.
And the other is that I think it's a bit elitist .... I know when I meet someone if they're a dude or not (a kindred spirit)...the ones who aren't are obvious and the ones who are will be dudes whether they're ordained or otherwise.
Or there again maybe I'm rambling... that'll be the oat sodas,,, ;D
Peace dudes 8)
Well, it's a bit of fun for the most part, I'm sure. Might have been easier to have a secret handshake, but, hey-ho :)
It certainly wouldn't be mandatory to carry it, it'snot a form of ID, just a mebmership card.
I'm personally more interested in my Dudespaper Press Pass. I've got my brown tribly with band to slip it into already ;)
Just a concept ID Card i was playin around with. Thought id make my own for now until we can get some made

That's pretty cool dude! You inspired me to try and make my own version! Haha! It would be cool if some official ones were available though. The one in the VW commercial looks like it is pretty complete and makes me wonder how come they haven't been available! Anybody know? Are they too expensive to have made vs how much to offer them for? Very curious!
Prototyping is done. They will be available very soon. Working out the "store" details.
Yeah Dudes, these are just about to hit the market, could happen any minute now.

Fuckin' A Man! ????????
Do we have to have Reverend as our title?
I don't care.
Call me when we have tax exemption.
Now that I could really get behind.

These new ones, IMDO, are much better than the one that was shown in the VW commercial! I love that they have that hologram. I also dig the back. Very nice! Once I gather up the bones I will definitely be ordering mine! Great job on these. It was certainly worth the wait for 'em!

Thankee! I hadn't heard about this before reading this thread.
Will we get an email when they're shipped to us?
Right now we have no plans to have a confirmation email from the back end. However Paypal may send an email confirming shipment.
Is this where I start asking where mine is? Think of "are we there yet?" and change it to "is it here yet?"
:) :) :)
i assume mine will just sorta tun up at some point

I've been keeping mailbox vigil, myself.
The postman knows something is up.
Doing batches of 100, the first batch goes out very soon.
These are all hand assembled to order, and we got a lot of orders on deck.
I have seen a few of your names popping out of the printer, so hang on dudes, our troubles are almost over.
Paraphrase of a quote from the Dudely Lama:
Sometimes being a slacker is a lot of work. :)
I got my ID card in the mail today, so they are shipping. And I now have a form of identification other than my Ralph's Club card. Well worth the bones, or clams, or whatever you call them. 8)
hey mang, where is mine? maybe i will get lucky tomorrow, eh what? nudge nudge.
i had an email from them today saying that (i guess) my order had gone out in the post
just a waiting game now
have i mentioned these cards are freeking epic , totaly useless in my country but epic

Well, yeah, they're totally useless in
every country, at least until the so-called Powers That Be recognize Dudeism as a legitimate religion. Still, they do tie your wallet together, so that's something.

like a rug for your wallet , there's always those few cards and business cards that you keep a hold of for whatever reason in your wallet.
i do plan to be a facetious lil bugger and start using that card wherever possible i remember from my security training there was a trainer there who had just made at home a laminated card that said he had access too all areas of any building totally unofficial but it worked according to him so it will be interesting to see if any official or unofficial organizations will accept the dude id hehe
I used to use all sorts of (wrong) ID cards at a place I worked. Especially after they spent a bundle on security (I think it was retirement security for the people who sold them the system).
Hey just had to stop by and say, I got my new Dudeism ID card, very nice!
Thanks to all the Dudes that made this happen!
Take it easy man!
Hey all!
To any of Dudes that have ordered and received these ID cards - Just wondering about the average time from ordering to shipping (to the U.S.)? And also someone mentioned that Paypal might send an email when it's shipped... do they?
I'm not chomping at the bit or anything, but don't want to blink and miss it ;)
Yeah, they sent an email. I haven't checked my mail yet, so it's probably there. I've got a beverage here so can't be arsed to check yet. :)
Turnaround from order to receipt was about two weeks. That's pretty solid for the set of slackers we have around these parts :) And, I mean, we're not exactly waiting on a kidney or anything.
Great quality on the cards, themselves. Now when I open my wallet, you see "Ordained Minister" quite prominently. As Doc said in Tombstone, "It appears my hypocrisy knows no bounds." Thanks for putting this thing together dudes.
I ordered mine the say they were announced here, haven't received it yet. But, with me being a trouble maker, they may have sent my card to the other side of the planet. :)

I ordered mine on July 29th and received it on August 13th, so just a hair over two weeks; no e-mail to let me know it had shipped.
Hey Dudes, thanks very much for letting me know. I guess I'll keep my eyes open when I can. Much obliged!
My card just arrived, even spelt my name wright! :)
Got mine and is it ever so loverly.
Mark it a futhamuckin' 8!
My card arrived yesterday and it's a work of art, good effort chaps.
Showed my card to a lady who wants me to marry her (and her special guy). Of course she already knew I was a High Holy Reverend Priest of the Most Dude Type.
So, that may count as a partial first use of the card.
dammit paypal.. i HATE their system for payment and shipping it rely gives me the shits why cant i just SAY where things are to go when i order i dont fuckin know why on earth they decide to handle it *grumbles*
in any case my id card has arrived.. its just on the other side of the territory at my parents house *head desk*
PayPal only has one registered address, just like a credit card has*. Many vendors, including my company ONLY ship to the registered address as that's the only way we have any protection from the credit card company deciding to not pay us.**
* My business AMEX card did have two shipping addresses listed when we had a delivery address in an industrial park. Saved a bundle on shipping.
** Credit card companies (including PayPal) can STILL reverse any payment received for assorted reasons (the list gets longer all the time). Most of us vendors try to do everything we can to prevent them from doing that as we're then out the merchandise, shipping, AND the payment...AND we get a black mark on our permanent record.

speaking of which have you tried changing that registered address ? i have tried and failed obviously multiple times its a damm joke its not just the bums that lost common fuckin decency has lost. they change the terms and conditions bible (and yeah i am calling it a bible because theyre that frecking long) like a child with a bunch of plastic letters and you can bet its not for our benefit either for me as a buyer or for sellers who are often left in the lurch by this crap.
sorry bad week for my ptsd gives me more walter than is good for me,
aaaanayyyyways i have the card now and its tops mates got a lil bent in the mail but itll flatten out in my wallet.
Got mine in the mail today. So about 2.5 weeks from ordering. It's sharp. I feel all official-like and stylish now ;)
