Can you tell than I'm bored?
I was just working on my grand dissertation on Dudelosophy for Dude University and talking about why my Dudespaper Column is called Dude Simple.
It struck me as a good time to remind people about all the great Coen Brothers films that are out there, besides The Big Lebowski. I've been a big CB fan for a long time now and it's all solid gold, man!
In no particular order we have...
(the obvious ones)
Dude Simple
O Duder Where Art Thou
Raising Duderino
The Dude Who Wasn't There
Duder's Crossing
A Serious Dude
(the less obvious ones)
Bunny Fink
The Rugpisser Doxy
Burn After Toking
(not proper CB films, quality may vary)
No Country For Old Dudes (adapted from a novel by Cormac McCarthy)
Intolerable Pederasty (a joint project they got semi-lumbered with to finish)
The Special-Lady Killers (a remake of the classic Ealing comedy, and the only CB film I've not seen, because I still can't get over the fact they made it at all, another one they got lumbered with).
(and not forgetting...)
Fargo
Yeah, I didn't really have a good one for that... any takers on a dudely Fargo parody?
I also just found out they're currently filming a new version of True Grit, not a movie remake but a fresh book adaptation, starrting Jeff Bridges as Rooster Cogburn. Dude Grit anyone? Looks like it should be out around Christmas this year. Coens + western = my ultimate movie!
No one got a Fargo parody?
Best I've some up with since is a reflection of the state of man who's intaken too much herb. That is to say Far-gone.
Ahh... bad puns *breathes in deeply from the cheesy richness in the air*
Ahh, I know how to get you started, just repeat after me: say "Mr. Lundergaard."
That will get you into the "making fun of Fargo" mindset.
Think of the possibilities:
Lundergaard Motors
Lundergaard Mortuary, where Patrick Donnelly works
Lundergaard Church of the Everlasting Virgin Mary Kate and Ashley
Lundergaard is this your only form of id?
I could go on...
So, Neil, are you hinting at "The Big Lundergaardski"? :)
