I've recently got back into this great online radio station at http://somafm.com/listen/
Billed as country for people who hate country, and music for cowhands, cowpokes and cowtippers, if you love alt-country, you'll love this station. It plays alt-country, disfunctional country and a mix of roots and old-timey tunes and other great tunes.
A friend got me into it a few years ago and in turn Boot Liquor got me into my favourite dudely band, The Gourds.
It's free to listen to, no ads, very few station breaks, 24/7. The station relies on donations and t-shirt sales to keep going (hmm, reminds me of something else I'm involved in... which espaces my mind...).
OK I have to admit that was the closest to HELL I have been in a long time.
In my opinion of course.
Please excuse me while I go off to clean my ears with an industrial strength bleach, and pipe cleaners.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well, even if you're a fan of any genre things can be hit and miss. Sometimes there can be diamonds in there and sometimes turds too.
Of course, if you're not into the whole alt-country thing, it's all turds to you, in which case, get your head out of the dung-heap, man :)
Some of the other stations are good though!
A tune for the country dudes (not very country here, but as dudes, we need honor all dude-like cultural)...

Hey, right now the station is playing Dead Flowers, by Townes Van Zandt, from the holy soundtrack. I guess it really is part of the whole cowboy thing!
