This is a section for feedback, let us know what you think of the story, any questions you have here about it will be answered here as well. Feel free to talk about it as much as you want here in this topic.
Excellent story, dudes! That's exactly where everybody is at 15 yers later and what's going down. If you get the project off the ground I'd be happy to help with the musical score and/or donate a track. Keep on rockin' dudes, dig your style...

hey it would be cool if the african american guy who gets thrown in jail with the dude and walter was the cabbie. just a thought. might give him and the dude a chance to make up and become friends. or not. just an idea. he'd have to be in his 50s or 60s then.
I haven't been following it.
But don't get in a bunch about it because i don't follow 24 or Lost either, and loads of people tell me they're good.

I was thinking something along those lines, Maurice is actually the son of the cab driver who listens to The Eagles, they'll be making amends soon so look out for it!

Ok, lets see...your comment on the feedback thread is...you were not listening to the dude's story,...so you have no frame of reference!
So therefore you have nothing to say, but damn, you say it anyway!
Way to go dude, Donny would be proud!
But hey, I see you have 351 post on the forum,...this is the first one I have read, so I guess that makes us even!
Can you say "I am the Walrus!"? ::)

Hey I could have voted for the second option but didn't.
If you don't want people to vote a certain way do what the politicians do, don't put it on the ballot paper.
Sorry I don't see the point in the exercise (the story).
That's a bit like saying the bible was good but heres what they did next (oh shit that's what the Muslims did).
But if you are enjoying it I don't see why you shouldn't carry on.
I was just saying it hasn't grabbed me. i have opened the thread a few times but there is no hook for me.

Actually that should make about 353 by now and all as pointless as the last.

And let us not forget the New Testament :)
If people want to write fan fiction on Lebowski, that's cool. I mean, I'm not a Lebowskist when it comes to Dudeism, so it's possibly not my thing either, but I concur with Meekon, I don't watch 24, but I hear it's good all the time. Sometimes you can say "it's good, but it's not for me", which isn't an insult, but at least it's honest. Honesty is key, for without it we are but fiction. Oh, wait, I guess that's the point of the story... um... are we still talking about the bible here? ;)

Shit dudes...after Wodenism, it's all just people making shit up...trying to bring new shit to light.
Hey dudes!
Just added a little more to my last contribution you might want to check out. It brings new shit to light.
Also added a link at the end of the story that leads back to here so if anyone likes, they can give notes here. ;D

Very cool the way you wound in The Stranger and the family history. Also very hip the way you wound in hemp farming. One criticism, though. The Dude smokes joints, not blunts. Maurice might smoke blunts but "a 60's counter culture flashback" most definitely does not roll up herb in a grocery bag. Other than that small but important detail the story is evolving nicely and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes next. My fingers are crossed that the original cast comes back to shoot this sequel.
Hey you know man you're right, I'll change that part.
As for a flash back to the 60's counter culture, that's Geoff's opinion, compared to most people the dude is pretty "Hippy-ish"He fits the bill pretty well.

We are having a lot of fun with this. I wish you guys could see all the "back stories" we are sending to each other by email! Fabulous stuff!
But we are just about to take the story in a whole new direction I think everyone is just going to Love!
The next scene is titled "The Duddha"!
Hey! Thanks dude!
Yo Dudes!
As you can see The Duddha is a mashup of the Dude and the Buddha. I have a request to do a mashup with Epicurus next. A Very Good choice!! Epicurus was surely The Dude for his place and time!
We are taking requests if you would like to see a mashup with another Great Dude in History.
Or, if you would like to write a mashup yourself and have it included into the Little Lebowski series, just send it to us by email!
We will also be happy to take into consideration any other suggestions on characters or scenes you would like to see included.
Thanks dudes!
The answer to Life, the Universe and Everything... fortitude. Dudes, that is fucking BRILLIANT!!! Great Dudes from history? Some musicians would be cool, Lightnin' Hopkins or Duane Allman. Maybe Cab Calloway or Bob Wills. Any era and/or genre of the 20th Century I can fact check for you. You guys are on a helluva roll, keep doing what you're doing.
Thanks Dude, we appreciate the feedback.

Had to pay our respects to Douglas Adams. Now there was a Dude for his time and place!

Yeah, I noticed that too. I think that is pretty typical of most discussion forums...at least it is on the few dozen I've been on.
But I think I prefer it that way. I'll take quality over quantity any day.
Could you imagine logging on here and finding several hundred new post every frickin' day?!
I get eye strain as it is!

Shame it's such a bunch of nut jobs here ;D
I tend to visualise the place as a whole set of little rubber rooms that occasionally we are let out of to visit the common room!
Bit like the scenes from one flew over the cuckoo's nest. Or twelve monkey's.

Far out man, so am I. Ostara FTW.
If you have already seen the newest scene, I've edited it with new information and took out some errors. Check it out.
Hey dudes, please forgive my "house cleaning" if I deleted your comment from the story thread. We really did appreciate your feed back; It's what keeps us going, but I just had to clean up the thread so there is only the story there.
You know, keep it looking un-spoiled so to speak.
It's part of my very undude ocd thing and has been bugging me since the thread was moved to this venue.
I feel so much better now! ;D
You are welcome to re-post your comments here if you wish!
It's not too late dudes!
What we got here is the first draft. Lots of work to do yet to get polished up. Still time to work in a thing or two if you have any suggestions.
Could even work in a another scene maybe...if need be.
But in any case, we hope you enjoy our little project!
Did you guys like the ending?
It ends rather abruptly. Did you guys lose interest? I hope not. What was Richard's side of the story? Supposedly he's been hypnotizing everybody, but why? And why did his brother's death cheat him of his victory? Why was he after Geoff of he didn't believe in the prophesy? Did I miss a post?
I discovered it last night and read it from begining to end.
Awesome, excellent, absolutely outstanding, when is it released?
One minor query though.
If the Stranger is uncle Oliver and part of the action, how come he breaks the fourth wall in TBL?
As the narrator he talks to the camera/us.
Surely for continuity TLL should also have a narrator.Consistency might indicate the same one,but not necessarily. But to kill off the original one in the sequel........damn I lost my thread there but you know what I mean.
Oh yeah, apparently he wasn't too keen on cuss words,so 'shithead'!?
Stay excellent dudes
Yo dudes!
Excellent points all!
That was only the First Draft, and we are going back through the entire script one scene at a time for editing and rewriting. I reworked the first few scenes already and just waiting on a review.
So now is the time to get your critiques and suggestions in so we can work them into the script in the Second Draft.

I considered that as well.
In TLL I'm saying the narrator is Richard.
They were twins and both raised in Texas.
The Stranger was Oliver, the narrator Richard!
(I have changed my mind on this. I think Richard should be both the Stranger and the narrator for Both TBL and TLL!) added 8/19/2010
But there is nothing wrong with breaking the fourth wall.

Yes and no. But we each have other projects that need attending. It's supposed to be a script for a movie, not a novel. I think it is long enough already.
Quote
What was Richard's side of the story? Supposedly he's been hypnotizing everybody, but why?
Actually, it was Oliver who was hypnotizing everyone. Oliver used his "gift" to swindle and con everyone to his advantage.
Quote
And why did his brother's death cheat him of his victory?
Sibling rivalry! It started when they were very young and just got worse as they got older. Richard's battle has always been against his brother Oliver, and Oliver's against Richard. It was part of their curse. It didn't matter what one of them had, the other one wanted it.
Oliver almost always won. This time Richard was about to win, but Oliver's death cheated him of his victory. To Richard it didn't matter if he won if he couldn't flaunt his victory in Oliver's face.
Quote
Why was he after Geoff of he didn't believe in the prophesy? Did I miss a post?
Richard wanted Geoff so he could take her away from Oliver and tell her the "Truth" about Oliver and the Lebowski family.
Geoff was just another contest between the brothers. If one wanted her, the other had to take her away. Sibling rivalry!! Richard also wanted Geoff for her votes.
The Prophesy was Richard's distraction to get everyone's attention elsewhere as the real trick was being preformed.
For our story, The Prophecy was needed to complete our mashup! ;D

Yeah, we may need to have them all cloned. 8^)
Either that or...have you seen what they are doing with computers these days? Real life like...
But could you replicate Sam Elliotts distinctive voice?
Hey Dudes, heads up. Because cckeiser and I both had conflicting views on the ending of the story, we both agreed it would be great to let the community here decide on which ending they liked the best. When you decide which one you liked more, go to the poll that is set up. The ending with the most votes will be the ending we both decide on. Please read both and vote.
Or...if you do not like any of our choices...write one of your own and post in here if you like.
"Additional info:
From the Old French form of the Germanic name, Geoffroy, meaning "God's peace".
Geoffrey may also be derived from Germanic elements meaning "peaceful place," "peaceful traveler," or "pledge of peace."
Not sure if this was mentioned... If this does not get filmed, it would make for a great graphic novel. Many movies they are making now are originally graphic novels or comics from Dark Horse. I think it would be great, but that is just my opinion 8)
There's actually a company that (for money) will turn your script into a graphic novel. A business partner and I are thinking of starting our own version of that. I know so many artists (prose and visual) that I'm sure it's doable.
