Title: At the Risk Of Being Practical!
Post by: meekon5 on March 26, 2010, 09:40:49 AM
At the Risk Of Being Practical is anyone actually making a list of these, I seem to be suffering from deja vu but a number of people are getting recommended again and again by people as they drop into the forum.

Just my point of view dudes.

I guess not.  I think in a lot of cases people are suffering from Donny syndrome, where they wander into the forum and miss the very large amount of posts in this section (I don't usually come in here, it is vast and daunting) and get confused.

Some people post individual topics to champion their Dude, but a lot will just tack a name into the main board topic (I really like to stay away from those, because they all usually have hundreds of posts and a half dozen conversations going back over months, man, my head hurts just thinking about it), where it becomes lost and forgotten and unnoticed by our new brethren.

I guess someone with some time and dedication could put together a comprehensive list, but that will take a lot of trawling to get there.

Oh, for the pragmatic few, it could have all gone so well... alas, the whole casual posting thing has kind of gotten tangled in this part of the forum  :'(

We need some official Forum moderators to help ForumDude out, maybe a dedicated Great Dudes librarian, or something.  Guess the call for volunteers goes out  ???

Well, I'm more than capable, done the forum mod thing before (trolled my way across the lands, clubbing flamers and eating their bones).  I'm also the offspring of a librarian and an archivist, so it's in my blood!

I certainly don't mind helping out on here, in fact, I look forward to deleting the porn spamming... or putting up more, as popular interest dictates.

Oh we of little free time, whose lonely minutes combined will stretch to hours of productiveness... and all that jazz.

Well many of you know I'm a database administrator and developer, if you can find any one more of a pedant than i, they would have to have wheels.

I'm sure we agreed not to mention my reality bending powers, otherwise we may get onto yours!  ;D
