Rituals have a place in Dudeism, but they should be personal to the adherent. The Dude clearly was someone who had developed a way of life that suited him best.
It is healthy to develop rituals that help keep one's mind limber. These should be shared so that we can learn from each other's experience. But we should never be fucking fascists about it and hand down edicts of what other Dudes must do to be Dudes.
I find that deep breathing and meditation exercises help to keep my mind limber. Occasionally I realize that it has been way too long since I've been to the bowling alley. I prefer to go early afternoon on weekdays. I hate crowded Saturday nights when they turn on the disco lights and shit.

Rituals seem to me a realization and manifestation of the group effort and wish. As I, and so we all praise this effort in different ways, this could never be static, and hopefully never dull, man.
Better we acknowledge and dedicate what we create, than define the action itself. To wit; if I bowl, hold the door, or wear a symbolic housecoat, are all very dude
In saying that, i am always a huge supporter of creating something for us to unify our spirit and energies to remind us why to be Dude is to be good. Wouldn't it be great to project that understanding for those with ears to hear, dazzled with fun and benefit for all? i believe it good to aim for something good, as not to waste what our unified energy can create.
In my understanding Dudeism could solve some stuff that is a real bummer, man.
