TravisE, in another thread, got me thinking about the the Physical aspects of dudeist spirituality with a remark on Taoism and Tai Chi. Most Eastern things- religions and what have you- also have a physical half. Taoism has Tai Chi, Hinduism has Yoga, Buddhism has the martial arts and meditation. Given Dudeism's Eastern influence, what, if anything, is our physical expression of the faith? Is it bowling- or is that more of a ritual and social sacrament than an interior practice?

The Dude was doing tai chi on Maude's rug while holding a caucasian.  I suppose we might notice a future trend of drunken tai chi emerging in the Church...it'd be good practice for staying careful when beverages are here, man.
Of course we do jerk off manually...could that be one of the physical expressions of our faith?
I would say that Bowling would be our preeminent physical practice.  After all, ours is a secular practice which practices as little as possible.  Bowling fits right in there

We should develop our own version of Tai Chi, to be performed when sober or not. All internal martial arts, and I guess also yoga and other disciplines, begun very simple, Tai Chi with three techniques and Pa Kua with two, and then everything became quite complicated.
But we aren't here to split hairs. A very basic form of Qi Gong, or Chi Kung, or what have you, is while breathing through your belly imagine that you inspire sky and you exhale earth. This is great for relaxation, healing and so on. And can be performed by everyone everywhere.

Quite Dudeist I would say.
Yeah well, that's just, ya know, like, your opinion, man.

I would say that bowling would have to be the physical expression of dudeism.

Also, I didn't think that was T'ai Chi the Dude was doing on Maude's rug.  Not any form I have seen anyways.  I looked more to me like a dakini (Hindu angelic being) inspired interpretive dance.
Abide!

Fucking "A" man. I didn't knew about dakini, I'll check them out on the net.

About bowling with sufidude we found a kind of theory: the lane is life and the ball is the human being, the pins can be your goals, the end is the same (the pit?), what matters is if you roll more strikes or gutters. And this, beside a little luck and physical ability, has to do with how you play and how much efforts (?) and dedication you put in it. But anyway you have to play.
And if life is a game what matters isn't really your score but if you are satisfied with how you played.

Well, probably I've put it down in a little messy way. But I think it is a good theory.

Sleeping, of course.
Sleeping / dreaming is totally a physical Dudeist act.

I also vote for jerking off manually. Well, jerking off in general.

So is that like the Drunken Monkey style?

Unfortunatly giving me heavy objects to throw (bowling balls for example)around you would probably be safest standing by the pins.

I am the man that actually missed the side of a barn (aircraft hanger) when throwing a stone at it.

And in the local news today an ordained Dudeist (claiming to be called meekon5) was arrested for throwing bowling balls at large buildings chanting "I need the practice, I need the practice!"
