So dudes,

Now bare with me man, I'm a bit drunk right now.

Anyway, what type of tunes do you dudes like? I've always enjoyed classic rock, loved pretty much all the music in The Big Lebowski (even introduced me to My Mood Swings by Elvis Costello, I had listened to him before and I like him, but never heard that song until I watched the movie for about the 5th time). Although honestly I like pretty much all genres of music, I especially love the old stuff, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, The Andrews Sisters, Dion, etc.

So dudes, what's your type of music?

I'm hooked on the soundtrack to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. II right now. Especially Brandy by Looking Glass. Great melody, great singing, great storytelling.

For me music is about mood so it depends what mood I'm in and what mood I want to be in. If I'm in a more somber or contemplative mood I might want to listen to classic rock or rock ballads or hell even the Dude's Whale-song meditation tapes or the like. But other times I wanna speed things up with a bit more hard rock or even some metal or techno (light techno). Also I love music from the 80'ies and hence a video game like GTA Vice City is fantastic for that and ditto Miami Vice. But I can listen to most things aside from rap and opera.

Damn, Vice City was great, I remember playing that game YEARS ago, good times. I loved the Flash FM radio station.

Guardians of the Galaxy had some decent music in it too, although I only watched like 10-20 mins of the second one, then I got distracted with something else.

Drive around listen to Creedence.
Stones, Skynyrd.

Been listening to a lot of Dead And Company lately while working.

Mostly rock... I love Rush and Black Sabbath.  I grew up on '80's metal and '70's pop music. I'll listen to lots of different stuff. Lately I've had a phase with modern country (think Zac Brown Band, Brothers Osbourne or Lukas Nelson), or stoner rock. Been into Earth, The Space Lords (both of these great for chilling out, man...) All Them Witches. I really wouldn't mind finding some like minded people in my area and forming a band in this style.
At least I'm housebroken.

Dude, are we the same person? I really dig Rush and Sabbath. Probably informs my love of doom metal and stoner metal. Dig me some All Them Witches. Them and Dead Meadow, Om, Stoned Jesus, Orchid.

Pure Sabbath worship

Thrash Vandall

An unsigned dyi band called days n daze they are a punk band but they have an acoustic guitar, trumpet, a gutbucket (washtub bass) and a washboard. They are super cool people also

abidingly

I like all kinds of shit but I been listening to The Dead South a lot lately. They're a folk band from Saskatchewan. The lead singer has a fucking cool voice. I really dig their sound right now. I really like Recap and In Hell I'll Be in Good Company by them.

I listen to all kinds of stuff though.

Since I am 68 and live in the neighborhood where Geddy and Alex grew up, Rush rules. But my overall musical tastes are very eclectic, I listen to almost everything, and choose depending on my mood.

Elvis had a magic voice, Slade makes my fuzzies tingle, and Southern Rock goes well with a cold beer and a joint. And don't get me going on Beethoven, he was the first heavy metal dude. Loud, brash, in-your-face and pounding it out.
When in danger or in doubt, fart. Hope for a dry one.
