I received a flyer from the local community center and they had a list of adult education type classes. One of them is tai chi.  I know it's supposed to be good for people like me with arthritis and what have you, but was wondering if anyone has ever indulged in said practice...anyone?
Fortunately, I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug, uh, regimen to keep my mind, you know, uh, limber

Try Thai stick.
That works better for arthritis.
And occupying various administration buildings.

I'd much rather try thai stick, but unfortunately the square community frowns upon commercial truck drivers testing positive for self applied herbal remedies.  Bunch of fucking fascists.

I practice Yang style Tai Chi in the yard every so often. I like the flow of it and find it useful for balance, concentration and keeping my joints supple (I'm 40). There are loads of tutorials on YouTube, but finding a local teacher/class would be better, as a video can't correct mistakes, posture or answer questions. Also, talking to a qualified instructor would help with knowing how to practice with regards to your arthritis, as some styles, (Chen, Wu) can be fairly strenuous to begin with.

Hope this helps, dude ????

Thanks Brother D, I will look into that.  And BD, I already told my special lady friend that I'm considering a career change...not sure what a 50 year old truck driver is qualified to do in the square community, but I'm considering it.  And when I do, you bet your ass I'll be adhering to a strict drug regimen to keep my mind...and my arthritic joints....limber.

G'day, There is a style which the Dude would abide wholly. Taoist Tai Chi. It is world wide too. I did it for a while and saw some amazing transformations in the elderly. (walk in hunched and walk out tall and limber). there are a set number of moves so once you learn them all you can do it anywhere.
yes even on the rug.
I don't know about you but I take comfort in that. It's good knowin' he's out there. The Dude

Is there a YouTube video for a Taoist Tai Chi? I'd like to find one without a lot of explanation, but something I can follow along with on my rug?
