The Good Rev from Germany

So there's lots and lots of good stuff to be found in other religions... like the religion I grew up with, Catholicism (I just like the wild and woolly world of saints, crazy!), or the religion I converted to many, many years ago, Hinduism (reincarnation, awesome gods and goddesses, Siva, the god of ganja and meditation, I mean come on, it doesn't get better than that).

And I know this is probably a very Walther thing to say, but I don't really give a damn: Sometimes, when life is grim and dark, and people are sick or dying, in those times, Dudeism doesn't have much to offer, at least not for beginners. That's probably the reason why they made this far-out religion out of Daoism: because the Dao De Ching and the Zhuangzi might have been  a little too terse for people seeking spiritual advice in life-threatening situations.

And then there's magic, the type some people write with a 'k' at the end. I started practicing it 20+ years ago, and sometimes, I'm still launching a spell or two into the Void. Chaos magic is my thing, and Hoodoo...

So there. Catholicism and wild folk Christianity, Hinduism, magic and Dudeism.
How the hell do you combine that? All I can say, I do, but it's an ever shifting and elusive process. Sometimes, Christianity takes center stage, and I'm praying my beloved rosary and novenas and the Jesus prayer. And at other times, I'm hanging with Siva, singing mantras and smoking the holy weed. And then, well, there's hoodoo and chaos magick, for times when someone needs healing and hope.

So, my strategy to combine this all is having no strategy.

What about you?

Far out!
I tend to "go with the flow" see what the world throws at me. Keep these gems in mind: "I can't be worrying about that sh*t. Life goes on, man." & "Strikes and gutters, ups and downs."

How am I doing it? No idea. Catholicism, Quakers, Swedenborgianism, Buddhism, Taoism, a bit of Lutheranism, Asatru, Hinduism, New Age. Like - when I am in trouble I look around in my head for those guys who said something useful concerning that situation. Usually at least one of them did so. Even Muslims said some useful things about keeping things clean and avoiding a nasty rape in the back street.
