I've considered myself a Taoist since I was about thirteen years old and learned about Dudeism back in 2009. I like to practice both, but with Taoism still being my primary focus. I was ordained in 2015 in the LatterDay Dude.

I have always struggled to stay dude-like or taken-er-easy. I have always been anxious and quick to temper. Anyone have like, advice or whatever man?

There aren't any quick solutions, man.

You just have to keep working on it. When you get angry or anxious and you recognise it while it's happening, it can sometimes derail it and you can rein it in. Sometimes you can't.

You can try and work out what the real cause of your anxiety or anger was (later, after you've calmed down) and try and catch yourself, before you go all Walter, the next time. Sometimes knowing why you get angry/anxious doesn't help.

The thing is, like the Dudeist bowling ball and the Taoist yin/yang symbol, there's a little darkness in the light and a little light in the darkness. That's just the way of things. Even the Dude has a little bit of Walter in his personality, even Walter has a little bit of the Dude in his personality.

Sometimes you eat the bear and, well, sometimes the bear eats you.

You just gotta keep trying to roll those strikes. Sometimes you'll only manage to get a spare. Sometimes you'll roll a gutterball. Doesn't mean you don't keep trying to reach the finals.
If at first you don't succeed ... Um ... Yeah. Whatever and stuff.

Jerking off manually is a great way to stay relaxed. Dudeditation is also great to do every day. Reading The Abide Guide and watching TBL is also greatly recommended to help you abide and just take er easy. But it's a practice and that takes practice so just.... you know.....keep....practicing.  8)

I was going to recommend you Alan Watts, but uhhh, then I reminded of Walter and how much he hated them:

Well, Alan Watts explains pretty much why you shouldn't worry about a fuckin' thing, his like an inspiration for people with depression and problems with identity and understanding all the worldviews out there and try to find the one that is the trued. You guys probably heard of Jim Carrey and his late "delusion" talking about nothingness, his inspiration was probably Alan Watts.

If you want to just stop caring about thing's, the first step is realizing that they are just - things, yeah, things. You will die, that's a fact, and you will not carry all your accomplishments, all the things you bought on this planet. The thing's you leave behind will eventually fall apart and rotten, so the best currency you will ever find on this planet is the effect you have on others: your family, friends, children's and all the unknown people you relate daily.

White Russian's, Weed, Creedence and meditation helps to keep yourself relaxed, bowling is also a good sport doesn't take much energy and darts is also my recommendation, but the major belief you must have is that the best thing on this planet, what they call "freedom" is the lack of responsibility and that's the reason why we are all on this forum and loving this movie, because the Dude had what we all wanted and that we are seeking: the lack of responsibility and for you to achieve that status you have to let the armour go, let all the materialism go, forget about dreams, they are not dreams they are illusions. Forget about the perfect car, the perfect house, you don't need those, with the perfect house you will have a non-perfect mortgage, with the perfect car will not drive it in the "fuck you" position, you see a scratch you get all angry and leave your zen mind. Why do you think The Dude had no wife? Why do you think the Dude didn't want a kid? That's fucking responsibility. Yeah, and now you are thinking: "Man, this guy is telling me to be a loser?". Well, that's not what The Dude was?

That's my advice, I think that's the Dude advice and the meaning of Aviding. I left my good job, now I'm a blue-collar worker with a huge pay cut but the most important, I have zero responsibility while I'm working, I work with good trued-full people who also don't want much from life, just live. I don't want to build a house, I rent one, even so I have the money to do one, I don't want a good car, I like my 81' Ford Transit with Creedence tapes, I don't want a wife neither, I can do my laundry cheaply, I don't need much to eat and also is not so expensive to eat outside in my country. I leave work, I go drinking, play some darts I get back home I put some music, smoke some weed and take a good hot bath. In the summer I put a bed on the backside of my truck and I just travel for one month sleeping looking at some mountain or a nice beach, my country have some great landscapes. I have the least degree of responsibility, and that's fine... all I ever wanted.

Hello everyone Not so long ago I faced the problem that a taxi from the airport is very expensive, and I very often go from the airport to the city. Therefore, I was able to find Nerja taxi transfer, thanks to which I began to save very well on trips and at the same time did not lose in comfort! I hope that you will find it useful for yourself!
