I'd just like to give a shout out about the movie "Barfly" based on the Charles Bukowski book produced by Francis Ford Coppola.
It came out back during my serious drinking days and it became the most quotable movie ever for a while with people lifting there glasses and yelling "to all my friends!!! Hey!! Hey!!" in every barroom in town. Just like in the movie.
Highly recommended. Micky Rourke's best ever and before he got all roided out and weird.

Excellent movie, Mickey Rourke at his absolute best. The rumor that I read was that this movie was based on the life of Bukowski.

Great movie and Rourke and Dunaway are amazing. You can even spot Bukowski in the movie in one of the bar-scenes. Bukowski didn't actually like the movie and thought Rourke's performance was overdone. But I like the movie and a great dudeist movie.

Also his book Post Office is great for dudes as well.
